Myself am pleased to see this barren...

Thought:
If our planet is inhabited with creatures made by God...is it possible that there's another planet inhabited with creatures made by the Devil?

I'd hate to see it.

Me too my friend....

And a personal favorite thought:
Can atheists get insurance for acts of God?

bookworm's photo

Hmmmmm..... Well.

Agnostics can. And I'm sure it's true that there are no atheists in war....

So, I would imagine the answer to that would be YES.

How interesting....insurance offices don't use the term 'acts of God' here....they use "natural elements, or natural forces" or 'storm damage'...

Insurance is specific to the naturally occurring thing, be it lightning, hail, flood, fire, cyclone, high wind, etc etc...

How very interesting...I wonder when the G word went out of insurer's vocabulary....(about the same time John Howard became prime minister and thought himself god, I think)...laugh laugh

~ The Purpose of This ~

~~~
The purpose of this
is a place in the void
to post our emotions
when we are annoyed
Or we can use it
in a positive way
by posting great thoughts
in the things that we say
For it is our choice
in the things that we do
we have the power
to drain or imbue
Posts begin blank
and as pure as white light
but once we submit them
they contain what we write
So write what feel
when you’re feeling alright
and refrain the stain
of posting a spite
For we are the ones
who create good and evil
let’s focus on love
instead of upheaval
Disclaimer: Some restrictions may apply. Check with your local loved ones before you post. Run everything you post through a spell-checker first. Re-read it before and after having sex with someone wonderful. If at that time you still feel like posting it include a lot of flowers with it. That usually helps.
Bookworm writes:
"And I'm sure it's true that there are no atheists in war.... "
You're suggesting atheists and agnostics are liars when they've served their country during wars while stating they were/still are unbelievers?
"'There are no atheists in foxholes' isn’t an argument against atheism, it’s an argument against foxholes."- James Morrow
I've personally faced my own mortality up close and personal in an ICU ward, and I'm pretty sure you'd have a difficult time accepting my story, but it doesn't matter- it is what it is.
Interesting Jess on 'natural elements'....
Nice Abra.... nice disclaimer too:smile:
Kerry, yes it is what it is, but sharing your story would be welcomed and I for one would listen. It goes back to the thoughts of an atheist in a courtroom... are they asked to swear on the BIBLE? So does that leave them exempt from the TRUTH? Truth is found in the heart, whatever the beliefs that we all have, I for one know that my Father exist and that is all I need. When you get to that foxhole or to wit's end, you realize God is there. And God comes with many names and different shapes by how we were raised. But then again... Anais Nin said people living freely have no fear of death... so would that foxhole be feared or welcomed....?
Actually Anoasis there is grey (or gray) as in the matter between our ears.
And here is a disclaimer for all we should use in this entire Chat Forum based on subject matter:
If I say anything tonight that offends you, just remember—you have to forgive me!!
That's so funny that you put both spellings of grey (gray) it used to drive me crazy that either speling was "acceptable" according to the dictionary...
I thought, what is this spelling anarchy?? Spelling seems like one of the few places "rules" not only didn't bother me but actually made things easier for me...
