In general, I think it means more of an hour glass shape, than a stick figure...

Seriously. the culture I grew up in, it simply meant the symmetry between a females measurements usually with the ideal being a symmetry between the hips and breasts, and a waistline of 10-14 inches smaller like 36-24-36 or 38-26-38...etc... 34-28-34 would be more straight up and down and less curvy,,,etc,,
