Reading that basically all men want in a relationship is support, loyalty and sex. And they can do without sex occasionally, i.e. if the wife is preggers or having her period etc. But if it happens too often or with no 'valid' reason, the man will get sex elsewhere. No matter how much he might love his wife, no matter how much support and loyalty he gets from his wife, he will get it elsewhere. Because he needs it. Men that say they don't, lie.
Mind you, HIS words, not mine, haha. (I must admit I cannot believe some of the things this Steve Harvey writes, hence the question) Now the big question: Do you men agree? Will you indeed stray if she's holding out on you for whatever reason (which can also be a so called valid reason)? |

I will say yes I lie, But we all do lie! And if I was with a woman and didnt have sex, because she was on her period or preggo or so. Well thats between me and her. But would I go somewhere else to look ? No! I am sorry not all guys are like that. I am a 1 woman man. I'd do anything I can and do to make sure our relationship would stay as strong as it is.

So what you're saying is if we don't get sex, then we'll look elsewhere? Could say the same if the woman was wanting sex and the guy didn't? If it happened one too many times the woman, just like the guy would say ' f**k it! I've had enough of this! ' Then look elsewhere! Crystal, just as many women have affairs, as guys do. It's just some women are better at hiding it, than men are.

The ex old lady tried cutting me off.
But, she couldn't figure out where I was getting it from. |

Take me for instance, since I found out I got my last girlfriend pregnant a lot has changed. My address has changed, my phone number has changed, my name has changed |

I just give all my FERTILE girlfriends your name. |

One of the last people I'm going to listen to on relationship advice is Steve Harvey. Haha, I think I get where you're coming from. I stopped reading as it started to feel like Archie Bunker was lavishing his old-fashioned views and opinions upon me. @ Willing2, you're a perve, hahaha |

A morally-bankrupt man may act in the way described in the OP, but not all men are like that. |

Pseudoscience is where you take anthropology which only applies to groups, and you apply these gross generalizations to individuals, which by scientific ethic is a big no-no.
This is pseudoscientific journalism, not behavioural science. Men (nor Women) do not have any collective personality. Any group of men (or women) consists of very different varieties which comprise what is called a normal variation. Thus it is impossible to predict individual behaviour. You can only suggest likelihoods of group behaviour because it falls within variations you can map and deal with majorities. Clinical psychologists cannot predict individual behaviour. Neurologists definitely can't. The only science that even tries to is criminology. And then it's very general, like look in a shopping mall for the paedophile. Not what he had for lunch or which Mall. |

I mostly agree with Vanaheim here. No two men are alike. And sometimes, it will depend on circumstances. For a lot of men, society has made it so that they can only feel confident when they think they are in demand, sexually. So they need to find various women to reaffirm that they are still 'in the market' and nto struck off the list.
And of course, sex is hardwired in to us, so depending on your drive you will either want to get it at all costs or be okay with not getting it very often. But if a couple is not having sex despite there being no physical issues like pregnancy or menstruation, there's something that needs fixing in the relationship. In that case it goes beyond sex, yes? But we all know this by now. Anyway, keep romping ;) |

I don't know Crystal and I've never had a girlfriend holding out on me for long enough for it to be a problem. I remember taking my ex out for a meal once and being quite fed up when she told me that she had had a good night and had enjoyed the meal but that she was too bloated to have sex.
My needs are fairly simple and I would say that I'm happy enough with the support, loyalty and sex. I'm loyal myself and I do tend to lose interest in other women when I have one in my life. If I was that desperate for sex, I dare say that I could just go out and get it but I haven't had a woman since my last girlfriend and that was months ago. I think that I've got as high a sex drive as anyone and I certainly think about it a lot but I think that I've grown up a bit since I was with my ex and she was telling me that all that I wanted was sex. It's always been something that I've wanted since I hit puberty but at different times it's been more important for me to get it than at others. When I started dating again I got involved with a woman that said that she didn't want anything serious and I went along with that, to start off with anyway, because it had been a long time and I just wanted a woman that was up for it. I wasn't so desperate with the next one and I only really did it because she was coming on so strong. I didn't even bother with the last woman that I went out with and I was more interested in getting to know her as a person than getting her into bed. I've never had a relationship going stale on me because of sex and I don't get complaints about that. Never had a woman still wanting to be with me that went off sex. All that I can say is that when I've been in relationships that weren't going well I found myself looking elsewhere but that was always about finding someone more compatible, or easier to get on with and not about wanting a bit on the side. |

Steve Harvey has a point. It does have truth. There are men like that I'm sure but there's also wonderful loyal kind men who love their partner and don't want to cheat.
