hi.. any relationship works only when there is trust.. whether u r near..or far away from your lover.. to make it work, u need to have trust on urself as well as on your partner.. U go to a new place, u meet new people, sometimues u urself get distracted and start liking sum1 else..

it can be hard if you are a person who wants physical affection, very hard
it can be easy if you are a person who can be satisfied with communication,,, |

good point. Never thought about it that way.

if you have trust and faith on each other, then its the best damn thing .. have seen friends who are together for almost a decade, and every time i meet them, my faith in true love increases ..

it can be hard if you are a person who wants physical affection, very hard it can be easy if you are a person who can be satisfied with communication,,, That's true, but i wonder if just communication can already be called "relationship"? I mean, it is some kind of relationship, but not in the full sense of the word.... I have a bit extended question on that: On this dating sites a person can actually meet, get along and even fall in love (let's say through quite some correspondence) with someone on the other part of the world. I suppose it doesn't happen often, but it does... My question is, what would you do in such case, where you want also to meet that person and experience her/him in real life not only virtually, but you can't, because of long distance, at least not very soon. Would you stop the "virtual romance" or go on, knowing that you are already to some extend hooked on emotions and hope, yet you still don't know many things about that person and you have no real experience with her/him? |

I think, if you love enough
there is nothing you cannot overcome. |

Depends on how serious the people in said relationship really are.

They can and do work for some people. Like with every relationship it requires a lot of patience, understanding, and compromise.

I try to avoid them, if its worth being together then be together. Long distance seems more like 2 people unwilling to compromise lol, there are usually other options...

Fine until you need a bit of bump and grind.
What then. For me it wouldn't work |

It may work, if you both are willing to work hard and respect each other. My personal experience: I dated this guy for over 3 years and then I moved away. The LDR lasted only 1 month, and the bond was supposedly "very" strong. For those that are deciding whether or not to keep the relationship, make sure you are willing to put up with hours of sitting infront of the computer- make sure your partner respects you. On a honest note: LDRs are very helpful to get rid of the guy/girl that doesn't truly love you!

I had a long distance relationship with a foreign guy which lasted i guess almost 8 months. We are talking everyday and i can feel the love in the air. Everything run smoothly. Until he's son was diagnosed and died of leukemia. Since then everything was so different. I did everything to save our relationship and eventually it was. But later this january his parents committed suicide. And he decided to end everything between us because he cant handle a relationship and cant afford to loose someone anymore. Im giving him his space. And wherever he is i am hoping he will recover and overcome all the pain in life. And me im still hopefull, maybe in a proper place and time.

I am not interested in anything long distance besides friendship, chatting and no, generally I do not think they work unless someone is willing to relocate. but to even get to that decision requires more than what I am willing to do as far as developing a relationship long distance. I have seen a few that worked out, but generally I'd say it's not the best option, and it's definitely not for me. In many ways for me it's a trust issue.
