Well I wouldn't try to deter anyone from it, as they're old enough to make their own choices. As long as you have enough money, time, and commitment, it can go places. I've just never been in one.

The one who is seeking a long-distance relationship should be the one who moves to where the other person is.

Oh believe me it can work . . . . . Until you move in together. Then maybe not. Been there, done that. But I know some do survive. And if you don't try, you will always wonder "what if".

The one who is seeking a long-distance relationship should be the one who moves to where the other person is. What if neither of you were seeking it and it just happened, then what? Sometimes what we were looking for just sort of falls in your lap without it having been what you originally sought. So neither was looking for a LDR but both wanted it when it appeared...then I guess both move "mid-way" maybe? |

Dcastel.. That is exactly what happened to me. I always said no LDR . just started messaging and it evolved. Unfortunately didn't work out after I moved but I ended up in Texas and love it here.

If one member of a LDR partnership relocates and that person hates the area, that person will most likely come to resent the other party. IMHO.
The chances of a LDR working is very small. |

I have tried in the past and never worked for me but then again I don't think there was enough interest to keep it going. I got bored of it. Takes a lot of trust, commitment and interest to make it work.

A relationship is a relationship, no matter the distance. Because it's not the distance that should matter, it's the commitment and effort you put in to it. If you love someone, nothing should stand in your way. That's why the make planes, trains, and automobiles...
