Cool Lizard King...
You have wisdom and appreciation for fine music far beyond your years... I love Leonard Cohen too...Bruce Cockburn, Marc Cohn, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Richie Havens, Tom Rush, Judy Collins, Tim Buckley, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Van Morrison too. thanks for the beginning of the poem... Let me turn you on to a free website... www.pandoraradio.com or justwww.pandora.com... |

I never forget Cat Stevens, Mikey....
I was just listening to him yesterday... Wild world... Where do the children play??? Hard headed woman... on and on... and a song my children's dad, my late husband, used to sing and play for me.... "How can I tell you"... |

I must say that Led Zeppelin is the best band ever.

I know pandora.com ive used it much
but in my opinion the best band ever is Modest Mouse |

Nevr heard of "Modest Mouse"
but I will check them out... Are you familiar with "Three doors down?" Someone referred me to them... So, in respect to the founder of this thread... How about them Doors? I was such a teenybopper, groupie back then... I can only imagine what would have been if Jimi, Janis and Jim had lived... They were each only 27 years old when they met their eternal fate. I often wondered if Jim just bought an island somewhere or went into hiding after all the legal crap. I had heard that no one in his band had ever even seen his body... And his girlfriend... What was her name... I can't remember...The red haired lady...Courtney...? Ohhhh. man I hate it when my memory evades me ... She supposedly died from an overdose 6 months aftrer he supposedly went home to his Maker... Does anyone have any other info to go along with this? But, all of this is just hear say... What real proof is there? |

David Bowie is, in my opinion, the all-time greatest performer ever. Hands down. As far as bands go, I love Depeche Mode and Duran Duran.

Every band seems to play some trash. Some bands, like the Grateful Dead, played tons of trash....but there was no comparison to the genius they had at certain gigs.
Bob Dylan....he's like a prophet Phish...like the Grateful Dead, lots of trash, untouchable genius |

Bob Dylan.....yes....sooooo good...
his words & music are excellent. I agree ... He is a modern day prophet..... big time |

the best band ever
Glen Miller |
it was one evolution of humanity.

AC/DC was by far and still remains the best rock group ever
The Doors don't qualify in my opinion...not enough hits even tho they were good CCR was awsome...Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Bob Segar and The Silver Bullet Band, Led Zep, Black Sabbath. Music was just simply awsome back in the day but all in all I think AC/DC tops the list. |
what?
you serious???? glen miller ???? OMG.... to each his own... but, I think I'll pass.... Now, how about them Doors... Does anyone think he { Jim } might still be alive? just wondering...I had heard they never found his body... I always wondered just what happened to him.... |
The doors were so good and so powerful back then,
when Jim still roamed the earth....You just had to be there... I think personally that the Doors were one of the very best bands that have ever emerged from the psychedelic scene. I saw them live. He was soooo handsome, and in the beginning , they were so polished , so deep and very theatrical and so hauntingly beautiful and incredible... There were no bands that even came close to their style... AC/DC has their own style... But, no one had a sound even close to theirs... absolutely no comparison. |

glenn miller
is actually pretty good have you listened to them other than in a movie good they are |
I think I remember one song of his...
If my memory serves me well, which it doesn't always... Didn't glenn miller do "like a Rhinestone Cowboy?" or maybe that was Glen Campbell??? I loved..."The Wichita Lineman" and.... "If I were a carpenter" whoever did those songs... |
Glen Campell did Rinestone Cowboy as well as Wichita Lineman
Glenn Miller can't be considered a rock group More of a Jazz sound Bottom line is everybody has their preferences in music, none of us is wrong. I just love it period. |
