adj4u, we know what he meant, and in the spirit of going down memory lane, pray may I ask what are your memories of bands that blazed a trail for all these young pups who call themselves "muso's" today. Maybe a bit of Hendricks for you ?

Must share this one with you guys, when " Men in Black " was released by Will Smith and my daughter was singing it, I was singing along to the tune and singing the Patrice Rushen version. My daughter got real upset, turned to me and said " You always have to spoil a good song by adding your own words, you are sooo SAD" Well, that was it, I went to my collection, dragged out the original version, showed her the date and than played it to her. Now, most of my stuff lives in here room, especially with some of the new crappers, erm, I mean rappers "sampling" old songs.

Just thought this wise old buff and connossieur
of fine music would stop by & Say hi ... Just wanted to see what was popular these days. I entered so many bands and songs in past threads my fingers are numb from all the posting... I think I'll go play some Incredible String band an incredible band from the 60's from Wales perhaps. and Super Session...Season of the witch.... with Al Kooper from the Blues Project. Stephen Stills of many incarnations and the late Michael Bloomfield formerly with Paul Butterfield Blue's Band... Dave Matthews "Ants Marching...." Had enough BAD LOVE by Eric Clapton... "In the presence of the Lord"....By Blind Faith... Bring down "Colored Rain"...Traffic |

Punz, if you're adventreous and want to explore, try Yanni, his version of the Flower Duet(Leo Delibes’s ) is staggering. You may also want to look for Koji Kondo ( yes, one and the same who composed for the Mario games) Legend of Zelda medly is fantastic. We forgot ..........
Claptom Peter Frampton Roxy Music |

|
Riders on the Storm and Spanish Caravan
some great tunes by one of my all time favorite bands... The Doors of Perception. I saw them back in 1968, the last show in Bridgeport, at my new high school's football field, before Jim got busted right after that, in New Haven ... Blind faith, and Jimi Hendrix also rolled through for a gig that summer... ah..." those were the days" ...as Cream sang.... |
