I miss the muse and motivation having someone besides myself to work for gives.

I haven't been single for 25 years and have never lived alone. I wish I had but I'm sure I would miss the companionship. I currently live with a husband, 5 kids, a dog and a cat. Oh and some fish I would love to have a bolt-hole where I could be by myself for more than just a few hours. However, I know I am too much of a control freak to trust the boys (hubby included) to do everything necessary to live properly - in fact I sometimes wonder if that's the only reason I stay....
