I live in a society where we deny getting older and try to hide it by doing various things to our bodies. One thing is hiding our gray hairs by coloring it to look younger. We have hair other places than on our heads. This will eventually get exposed. Do you color it? Keep waxing/shaving/ or using electrolysis? Or do not care at all? I do not have gray hair yet, but I was just curious. Curiosity killed the cat. laugh

I think it's just best to grow old gracefully.

Humm myself I started turning gray at 16. Had one big patch come in on the right side in the front... For many years I left it for I thought it was pretty kewl...

But as I hit my 40's it all started turning salt and pepper.. Therefore yes I started dying it..... Now that I'm in my 50's if I did not color my hair I would be almost solid salt with very little pepper...

So ya I color my hair about every 4-6 weeks....and will continue to till I can't do it anymore....

I don't do it for others, I do it for myself .....biggrin

I started getting gray hairs in my early 30's! scared

I thinks there's a HUGE gender difference in the perception of gray hair. Men get gray and they're considered distinguished looking while women go gray and they're just considered old looking.

Proof: hair dye sales. For women, it's through the roof, evidenced by forty-two shelves of hair dye boxes at your local Walmart. Mens' hair dye sales are meager in comparison, mostly one tiny section of Just for Men Touch of Gray. A few vain men might not want to be totally white haired, but they leave SOME grays if they DO dye their hair. Point is, men and women don't seem to mind men getting and looking older, but men and women both seem to mind women not necessarily getting older but looking older.

I personally do nothing about my gray hair. I don't dye it. Did once (on my head only!! ) and that toxic crap killed my hair!! Swore I wouldn't do it again. I don't care if I look older, I embrace it. I don't care if some guy passes me up because I have gray hair. I want a guy that's more concerned about what's UNDER my hair than what color it is. I am what I am and I don't try to change that. No boob job, no colored contact lenses, no Loreal "I wanna be a blonde" in a box. I'm not a blonde. I'm an old gray haired chick with blue eyes and little boobs. Take it or leave it. shades

I dye my hair because I hate my gray. When I'm 90 I might not care, but for now, gray hair is out, Nice n Easy Medium Chocolate Brown is in.

Well guys look distinguished with gray hair. I personally don't have any yet and my parents didn't start to gray till their 50s so I'm hoping my luck holds out.

I'll take grey over bald.

Wouldn't bother me either way really, but bald would bring about a lot of interesting conversations.smokin

I prefer men with dark hair; I'll pass on the "distinguished" gents....

I like men. It doesn't matter if their hair is gray or if they don't have any.
For me I started graying in my early 20's. I wish I wouldn't have started dyeing my hair and now I'm afraid to stop!
I do it for me too! flowerforyou

PS - there will be no dyeing of hair anywhere else! It shall be what it shall be! Amen!
