The title of this thread is misleading.

A scammer who uses poor English isn't necessarily a resident of the USA.

I was trying to find out about poor English among Americans, which probably includes a lot of ppl who haven't been born in the States. Meaning they might be for real, but use/speak English that isn't totally correct.

huh Are you saying that nobody in England ever uses slang or speaks improper English grammar?

Bloody Sasunnach. grumble

Yeah they do, but I'm kind of used to those mistakes as many of my friends are English.

Well...I am bent over and boned hard on this topic.....even most southern rednecks gotta think long and hard to decypher the crap that I yammer on about...and I am a southern fried redneck country boi.

I also speak "gangstah ", "bullschitt " and "gibberish " fluently...most folks here don't know that I am cunnilingual.

However....it is way too easy to spot the non English, non American, non Texans...

They try too hard...spelling aside...they try to sound deep or intellectual ...but they cant make a coherent sentence without trying to make it sound like women should be serving them...or the chicks invariably gripe about the man they love is doing them dirty and dog humping other foreign skanks.

Those hose bags always make it easy to pick their skanky @$$es out.

Hope that helped pretty mama.

:)

The cheesy aftertaste.

Oh man! Been there..done that!

Nice people but,you can't scrape their body funk off of your tongue with a chisel and a 12 pound sledgehammer.

Perhaps I have said too much.

Uh, currently, "UK" is not a synonym for England.

Citizens of Northern Ireland are UK, as well as citizens of Wales and citizens of Scotland. So, one can love them without loving those bloody Sasunnach.

I had a couple of messages last week that were good English but then some words were not used correctly. I asked if he was a scammer and I have not heard back Yet.laugh

Hilariouslaugh

Hey crystalflowerforyou So.... If I were you, I wouldn't bother responding... but that's just my opinion. It seems that every time I receive a message like that..... they end up being a scammer or a guy looking to marry me because I'm his one true lovenoway On the other hand, there are many Americans who purposely use the wrong tenses. Usually the younger crowd.. I for one made sure to not get in that habit when growing up... IDK it's a bit confusing. I guess as long as they aren't trying to marry you...... You'll be fine:laughing:

I don't think we feel fine, because it's about getting a feeling of being lied to from the 1st or 2nd or 3rd message. Maybe you try to stay openminded for the couple first ones, especially if they try hard, then discouragement comes again as you see this suspect things.
By the way: to native speakers, it's not only native speaking (how do you call Indians for that?) It's about education, energy to pretend you're real when you're fake, and fascination to make believe...
Last fun (??) One I had was a guy saying he was living "on the East Coast of CA"...
And I'm not a native English speaker ... (Either) :-)

Krupa, missed your previous message. Cunnilingual, wow! I'm a linguist but never tried that one, think I'd have a problem with the fricatives. Wonder how you cope with those?

As for the scammers pretending to be fluent, suddenly dawned on me that often they use capitals when they shouldn't. Sort of like "I am a Simple man ..."

I do agree with you. It does get a bit uncomfortable and there are many different circumstances and education does play a huge part in the ordeal. I was speaking more towards the individuals that claim to be american but cannot build a legible sentence to save their lives... I don't know about you guys.... But if the damn sentence is too hard to read/understand... sh*ts getting deleted-lol

And you think that's funny??? noway I'm **** scared of seagulls and live near the coast, so the bastards are everywhere.
Have you ever looked at them beaks? Looked one in the eye? Their eyezz are dead as dodos.
I had a dead sea gull in my garden last winter. I was sooo incredible happy, lol. Couldn't leave it there, as my cats could decide to have a snack or tear it apart. So I had to remove it. On my own. No one to hold me hand. I almost ermm... well, you know. There are moments when a girl simply needs a bloke in her life, and that was definitely one of 'em!
And now you tell me the buggers are after Big Macs? Mummy!!
