I guess when I watch a movie that I know its only actors doing their acting and knowing the story isn't true; I just can't get all emotional about it. Maybe my ex was right that I am too analytical about things.

The Green Mile especially the scene where he gets his last request to watch a movie.

Old yeller, where the red fern grows, hachi, yes there is a trend. I love my doggies :) When did "Where the Red Fern Grows" come out as a movie? I don't know if I can watch it. I'm positive it would do a number on me too! ...but sorta relevant pkh ... ...This was the book that cemented my love of reading! I bawled my eyes out and dreamt that someday I would write like that. It just amazed me that words written on pages could inspire such strong emotions in the reader, as if I was actually there experiencing the story. Actually, many of the movies that inspire waterworks from my overactive tear ducts also inspired them as books first...Of Mice and Men, The Outsiders, Marley and Me, The Green Mile... in fact, many of the movies mentioned here had me crying long before they hit the big screen. I guess I'm just a sap. |

A few-
The ending of Peter Jackson's Return Of The King The Plague Dogs (The saddest movie about dogs I've seen.) When The Wind Blows (No upbeat ending for this film) Grave Of The Fireflies There's a few films that I found very sad/touching though they didn't make me cry- Shawshank Redemption The Green Mile Harold And Maude Spirit Of The Beehive Old Yeller Combat Shock (this is mainly because this film is so downbeat from beginning to end that by the time it's over I felt drained.) |

The movie that most touched the tearful side of me was "Somewhere In Time" with Christopher Reeve. It also touched my fantasy side.

I cry at stories in the paper, I cry when I watch "Little House on the Prairie" I cry when I watch "Love Story" and I always cry when I watch Elliot in ET, when he sees ET is alive!! And I cried like a baby when my little 15 year old Jack Russell terrier had to be put to sleep
Does that make me any lesser as a man? I don't think so... |
