I used to think the idea that some form of humanoid living during the time of the dinosaurs was ridiculous. Anymore, I'm not so sure that is in the realm of impossible.

I think the earth may be a lot older than we think and for humanoids to have only to appeared in the small space of time they claim we appeared... and then we evolved so rapidly... it all seems completely illogical.

Religion teaches us that "the world" is how old? They are wrong, but the "world" may have a definition different from "the earth."

Humans may have been genetically engineered by an advanced race of beings and taught anything. This advanced race of beings may have been around even before the dinosaurs. Perhaps they are the ones who decided to rid the earth of these monsters.

In any case, the history of mankind and the history of the earth the way we have been told is illogical.

religion doesnt tell us how old the world is,, men have claimed it does,,,,,

Creation is a fundamental fact of life. No life can come into existence unless it is created. That points loudly and clearly to a creator but to make up theories about aliens is nothing more then wanting to ignore the obvious. We and the Universe exist because God made it happen.

I will disagree that the world was "created."

My understanding of God is that God is omnipresent. The gravity of that statement must not be overlooked. It means "in everything, being everywhere."

Hinduism, and other religions that derive from it, incorporate the theory of transcendent and immanent omnipresence which is the traditional meaning of the word, Brahman. This theory defines a universal and fundamental substance, which is the source of all physical existence.

This for me means that there is no "creator" separate from his creation. They are one and the same.

Life manifested itself.

Psychiatry is a fraud so saying religion as a mental illness ...is just stupid

laugh

(They are both frauds to some extent.)

I'm into spirituality rather than fundamental religions. Every problem is a spiritual problem. Every disease is a spiritual disease.

The Bible does not, but some religions do make that claim.

The age of the earth has been a topic of debate among Christians over the last two centuries. Several Christian ministries promote the idea that the earth is less than 10,000 years old, which they say comes from the Bible. In reality, the Bible makes no claim as to the age of the earth, although it does establish a minimum age. This page examines some of the history of the controversy—what the Bible actually says and does not say—and the scientific evidence surrounding the age of the earth.

As indicated earlier, the Bible does not fix the age of the earth, contrary to the claims of Answers in Genesis.1 Historically, their claim comes from the work of James Ussher, Bishop in the Church of Ireland, from 1625 to 1656. Archbishop Ussher took the genealogies of Genesis, assuming they were complete, and calculated all the years to arrive at a date for the creation of the earth on Sunday, October 23, 4004 B.C.2 Of course, even assuming the method was valid, such an exact date is not possible from the genealogies of the Bible (Ussher assumed all the years the patriarchs lived were exactly 365.25 days long and that they all died the day before their next birthday). There are a number of other assumptions implicit in the calculation. The first, and foremost, assumption is that the genealogies of Genesis are complete, from father to son throughout the entire course of human existence. The second assumption is that the Genesis creation "days" were exactly 24-hours in length. It turns out that both assumptions are false.

I just wanted to throw this in there and see what you guys thought. A woman I worked with, worshiped a guy who started a religion when his dog, Bootsie, died and he laid on the couch for like over a week with no food or water watching t.v. and then some higher power came to him, blah blah blah. He was originally known as Bubba Free John. He changed that name. I knew two women who joined this err..religion with their husbands, giving all material things up to their leader. The only way you ascended in this religion was to have sex with the leader. I know some of you are screaming that it's a cult not a religion. Well, that's arguable. At least to the women I knew.

I think they were following a crazy person. And as a pedigreed crazy person, I have mental dar. Gays have Gaydare. Mentally ill people have mental dar. I have found many fundamentalists make my mental dar go BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP!!!

Also, there is this famous joke that was popular in the beach community where I lived because we have so many homeless watching around arguing with themselves.

How do you know that the guy screaming:

"No, no, I will not!! You can't make me!! GO AWAY"!!!

Is not the next Messiah and God is talking to him and he doesn't want to do it??

Mental dar... LOL that's a good one.

FYI all religions begin as CULTS.

For your last question:

The crazy guy screaming is not talking to "God." He is possibly hallucinating a demon or talking to a real interdenominational demon.... if you believe in those. I have known people who are plagued by these demons who tell them to do very bad things.

What they are exactly, I do not know. Officially, these people are called schizophrenic or psychotic. There are meds that they can take but some refuse to take them, others are drug addicts because they take drugs to shut the voices in their heads off.

I knew a guy who had these voices telling him to do bad things, and he refused. They told him he had broken his contract and that he would die. He died mysteriously of a brain aneurysm at age 35.

Now one could say that the brain aneurysm caused his demons or that the demons caused his brain aneurysm, but the fact remains, the demons told him he broke his contract and he would die, and then he died.

schizophrenia is a mental illness which one it's facets is psychosis. So they are all suffering from psychosis. psychosis can be brought on by all sorts of things even heat exhausted.

same way I would presume if watching david duke screaming ' I LOVE HER< I LOVE HER',, he wouldnt be talking about a black woman,,lol

or farrakhan about a white woman

it would be highly improbable, due to what has been known about their character/values/ lifetyles,,,etc,,,

but what do we really 'know' anyway,, how much of the knowledge we learned from books did we ever experience personally, see , hear , touch , taste for ourselves? how much were we able to duplicate personally to prove it true?

much of what we learn and 'know' is by the faith of our past experiences and conscious and in the 'faith' in those who have taught us or written about the things we learned,,,

We should borrow from both science and spirituality to seek the ultimate truth. The secrets and "stuff we know" or don't know out there, is infinite.
