its only as good as the parents education and time is,,,it takes the place of a teacher and a class so it really requires at least one parent to have the patience and time in their day to work with the child,,,,,

far too many parents dont have the option for either parent to be home very long during the week,,,,

Because the powers that be made sure to create a society where both parents have to work (thus more taxes are collected) and they can do the indoctrination on your children towards the society that they want to create.

Most parents have no idea what the schools are teaching their children or how they have rewritten the history books. Its a damn shame.

The government actually looks on people who home school their children as a threat.

I can honestly say my children go to amazing public schools. Especially since they have to go to different school by request from me. My children are very over protective of each other and nothing would ever get done if they went to the same school. A great thing about this is that I get to compare one school to the other and so far I am very proud of how and what my children are learning. Not to count that I have been a pre kindergarten teacher for over ten years so I like to think I have high expectations. My daughter started school knowing all fifty states in alphabetical order, speaks some mandarin, swahili, and is currently working on spanish because of her personal love of other cultures. Another great thing is that when I have an ideas the teachers are willing to listen and at least try and that is what I love the most. We have great communication and they are always willing to allow others to come in and educate them when it is needed especially with my son since he has special needs.

well lets think about why they want to marry in the first place...its because they want to same rights as other married couples...they want their partners to be able to get the same benefits as others if and when one dies...why shouldn't they have the same rights as the rest of us?? perhaps if we relented on that the the push for same sex marriage would not be such a big thing right now...as far as children are concerned i honestly do not believe it makes a child bad or good or straight or gay. It is how they are raised. Children just want to be loved and protected...we live in a time where it really doesn't matter if its two men two women a man and a woman or just one parent alone. I feel the same about when people feel homosexuals should not adopt. I have yet to see proof where this hurts children. I have been working with children for over twelve years and I have seen all manners of children. In the end, they want someone to want them love them protect them...i have even watch children of various ages be raised in a home with a same sex couple from the time two of them were infants until their current age of 9 and 10. They have other siblings as well we were taken in by the couple when they were 5 7 and 13, now they are 15, 17, and 23. If were living in different times maybe I would feel differently about it, but we are not. We live in a world where there are a variety of people, cultures, and beliefs. Many of us who claim to believe in God and follow his ways are breaking one of his laws by casting judgement to begin with. The world is changing...we cannot stop it. I like to believe in the end it will be a positive change but I also know there is a possibility that people will allow their hate for change to interfere. By no means am I saying that anyone's opinion is wrong, thats the great thing about our country is our ability to speak our opinion. This one just happens to be mine. I guess my opinion would change if I actually worked with children who's lives have been destroyed by all this. Anyway I'm hopeful for the future that some day this will be one of those arguments that will be laid to rest because its getting old. Granted it could take many years for that to happen but its like I said...I'm hopeful because without hope there would be nothing. Have fab day everyone!flowerforyou

the bible never says not to cast judgment, we are given brains so we can judge right from wron,,

it is not judging a PERSON to judge their action or behavior,, right and wrong are right and wrong regardless of the PERSON doing it

as is healthy and unhealthy, its not a judgement of a person

I have two close relatives living this lifestyle, they are two very wonderful people whom I love, but that doesnt mean I have to be brainwashed into accepting msm as normal, healthy or ok,,,,

or that I want society to be endoctrinated into that belief by force of law...

I have another who lived it the first forty years of their life before transitioning into a heterosexual lifestyle,,,,,

doesnt matter, its gonna happen, we will continue to pretend that a sexual preference is as biological and definitive and unalterable as gender,,,

and we are gonna pay, one way or the other

one yes it does talk about judging others: here are few Luke 6:37,matthew 7:1-5, James 4:11-12...there are quite a few actually but that is neither here or there..you are right that we are given brains so that we are able to make choices. you are judging a person when you judge their actions or behaviors because our behavior and actions make use who we are among other things that also contribute. Why worry about a lifestyle that does not affect you?? no one is trying to brainwash anyone into changing their personal beliefs on the subject at hand. No one is pressuring you to support same sex marriage...all they are asking is respect their lifestyle as they respect yours...its not too much to ask. I am not homosexual but I do respect their beliefs and I want people to respect my beliefs whether they agree with it or not. The world is not going to stop spinning because of same sex marriage. Our economy will not fall apart because of same sex marriage in fact if anything the states who legalize it may get a little boost in theirs because many people may choose to move to a state where their marriage will be recognized. We all have the consequences of every decision we make, this will be no different. Why do you care about what happens behind other people's closed doors anyway?? I don't believe anything I do in the bedroom affects anyone but me and my significant other the same goes with same sex couples...what they do behind closed doors is their own business not ours.

I disagree, that is what the bible warns against

our actions do not make 'who we are' because our actions are choices that can change in any given moment,, 'who we are' is much more complex than anyone choice or string of choices,, that is why I can judge ACTIONS , that is why I Can say I have loved ones who are wonderful PEOPLE but engaged in this deviant lifestyle,,,

one is a judgement of the person (wonderful) the other is a judgment of their actions and behaviors,,,

I dont care what happens behind closed doors, I do care what is endoctrinated into my childs values and standards by society...

what the GOVERNMENT mandates to be endoctrinated into my childs values and standards and education is very much a concern of mine,,,

The Sate Board of Education decides policy for teaching Sex Ed based on compliance with state policy and the best interest of the children...Obviously, what is taught varies from state to state...Thirty-five states currently mandate Sex Education or HIV-STD Prevention or a combination of both...Sex Ed is typically taught by Health and Physical Education teachers...Occasionally, Biology teachers, guidance counselors, and social workers teach it too...
In the early years, many parents were vehemently opposed to Sex Ed and most schools stopped teaching it...Then, in the mid 1980's, widespread recognition that HIV could be transmitted through sexual intercourse made it politically untenable to argue against it...The Surgeon General called for sex education to begin as early as the 3rd grade and to INCLUDE INFORMATION ON HETEROSEXUAL AND HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS...Within 10 or 12 years, 34 states and the District of Columbia had laws in place that REQUIRED schools to provide SEXUALITY education...Nevada is one of those states Harmony...Nevada is also one of several states that have an Opt-In policy that requires parental permission...To me, this means you have the final say about how your kids are educated on the subject of sex...If you are opposed to having your children exposed to information about homosexuality that is being presented and taught by qualified educators under well regulated guidelines, just say no...Homosexuality is not contagious and the responsibility of teaching right from wrong belongs to parents, not schools...

I dont plan to raise my daughter here in Vegas,

I plan to keep my daughter in private environments as much as possible until I find public schools that dont contradict the standards I wish to instill

but its good to know there are places that will allow me to opt out,,,,for now

Then why did you list (several times) public education curriculum and how it applies to you as a reason you oppose same-sex marriage?....Did you mean it's a reason TO oppose or it's a reason YOU oppose?...Are you speaking on behalf of other parents?....And can I just add that I am shocked to learn that you, a mother, DID NOT KNOW how your own states SEXUAL EDUCATION policy is structured....

because they are interconnected, I plan to keep her in private environments (when I am ABLE....being the significant part of that statement) BECAUSE of the declining value systems the public schools are supporting and teaching

however, any property tax or such tax that I pay whenever I move will still be going to the PUBLIC school system, which I will feel pressured not to use because of its decline,,,,,

as far as how my states education policy is, my daughter is only six and I have not reached a stage where she will need to learn that,,, YET

I have started her out in a private environment from jump because I was not happy with the two years I witnessed from my oldest sons education (four years ago). at which time homosexual relations were not part of the curriculum, but the educational scores were at the bottom of the country,,,,

I am not from this state, so I dont consider it 'my state', I am from ohio

but my daughters education will be a priority in my life and I will be on top of what the schools are doing where ever i DO end up raising her

Thanks Harmony....For some reason, I thought you had more than one child and that you have been living in Nevada for several years....Educating children on the risks associated with anal sex is not done by distinguishing who, only how...The primary reason for even mentioning it is to provide medical facts to children about how and why this type of penetration can increase the risk of contracting a potentially deadly virus that has no know cure...Because children are naturally curious and are going to "try" things, having access to the facts is a good thing...Legalizing same-sex marriage does not mean that schools will promote it by including the history leading up to legalization in their curriculum...Having access to the "facts" rather than the opinions and assumptions of others, TV, internet, and countless outside influences would only serve to strengthen what a parent chooses to teach their child about same-sex marriage...
