So in other words......because two people are in a relationship YOU don't agree with.....they have to hide it from the public entirely? How very loving of you.....for not being a Christian, you sure are acting like a lot of them do on this.....

Many countries, they better hide or they wind up hung.
And that don't mean as like a horse.

This is true, either way though, either hung or just forced away from society in general, neither one is good.

If two people have a relationship that I don't agree with, fine. just keep it away from me. I don't care or want to see it. They don't want to see my relationships nor I theirs. For some reason, they want the public to see and approve theirs? Not. Good grief, how hard is that to understand?

How hard is it to understand that it's not fair to treat them as second class citizens just cause of who they choose to be with? That it's ok for you to go out with your wife or gf on a date, but they can't? And by the way, they are not forcing you to hide your relationship, so don't even try that argument, you are the only one forcing anything here, not them.

That is great! Go out with them every day. That is fine. I dont go our with someone looking for acceptance from any one or trying to hide it from anyone. I do not try to force any thing on any one but seeing Degenerous flaunting her gayness is sicking to any all who do not care to see it. Keep it in your bed room baby, it will be good.

well, one thing people don't seem to understand is that there is no such thing as total freedom... some laws just need to be there, for the good of the people... i don't care if anyone is gay or not, i just don't see the need for all the "advertising" gay people do...

i would like for someone to tell me what the gays cannot get out of common law marriage that others get by being married...

Advertising? Do you mean like straight people do by showing/telling people they're straight?

yea, the NORMAL thing...

Ah, so you believe that because you think straight is normal, it's ok to advertise. But, because you think that gay is not normal, it's not ok. Double standard, huh?

The only reason they "advertise" is because people judge them. If people stopped JUDGING them, maybe this wouldn't be a problem. Think about it dude.......

And short of that, the good of the people line is bunch of bs, most laws that remove a personal right of one person are about CONTROL, not good of the people. How does it personally effect you if gays marry, tell me how. And no that it hurts your moral code doesn't count. Get over yourself.

As for common law, you do realize it takes 10 years for that to go into effect......what happens if someone dies or they split before then? SOL? It's not the same at all.

maybe you should read more about common law marriage... it may vary from state to state, but i have never heard of ten years...

doesn't count? don't try to tell me what counts or doesn't count in my world, if i'm against gays marrying, then i'm against it, and none of your business why... it's mainly pushy people like you that says i have to is one of the main reasons i'm against it. so, get over yourself and don't tell me how or what to think... you wanna go marry your "partner", go for it, but i will never be at one of of these "ignorant" affairs...

No it doesn't count, because just cause you get all butthurt over gays marrying, doesn't give you the right to tell them they can't. It's not a damn bit of your concern, so stay out of their lives. They don't tell a straight person they can't marry can they? You are not the center of the universe, others live in it too and they may want to things different from you, deal with it.

If you wanna stay prejudiced though feel free, but don't be surprised when people call you on it or push back.

in your little mind, you might think it doesn't count, but guess what: your not the only one on the planet... don't even try to shove your beliefs on me, it won't work... thats the problem with gays like you, your so worried about what others think that you cannot function is society because you have this need to be accepted by everyone... another news flash: not everybody cares what the hell you do... i don't, and never will... so you can keep on with the name calling, like a little baby, or you can accept the fact that not everyone on the planet will agree with your viewpoints and stop attacking people that don't agree with them... and by the way, it's not racist, race has nothing to do with this... so you have any other inept names you wanna call me?

Why do people assume that those who stick up for gay rights, or who are even just ok with gay people, are gay themselves?

does it matter what i think?

That isn't an answer to my question.

No.
I share their sentiments on anti-homosexing.

They are killing homosexers around the globe. Is their right to kill them right?

To have an opinion on homosexing, do you have to be one?

You share their sentiments? You want gay people killed?

So, don't hang out with gay people or associate with them if it's such an issue. They should not have to hide just to appease you.

people sometimes have an idealistic/unrealistic world view

the reality is, people will not and do not have to like everything we do

reality is , that is not a 'freedom' issue, because we still have every ability to choose what we will subject others to regarding how we choose to behave

and we also have every ability to react to those behaviors with disapproval/acceptance, disgust/tolerance,,, short of physiclally harming others

so, yeah, the girl who wears a tattoo rose on her wrist is more likely to receive positive acceptance and feedback going out than one who wears a kkk tattoo

a person who wears a dress to a funeral, is more likely to receive positive acceptance than one who wears stillettos and a swim suit

,yet, people can still CHOOSE Their behaviors, but adults have to face the reality that not everyone will or has to approve of or react positively and that is THEIR right to choose THEIR Behavior,,,

(short of harming another person)

I dont have to hide my love for my man in front of old timers, I Can hold his hand and kiss all over him,, that is my perogativce, noone FORCES me to hide it

but what may cause me to REFRAIN (different from 'hide') is the knowledge of the company I am in , the respect for their feelings, and the RESTRAINT to adjust to my surroundings,,,especially since it is my CHOICE how long I have to be in those surroundings before returning to more 'accepting' surroundings

actions have consequences, some legal, some social, and some both, if nooone is harming us or oppressing our ability to care for ourself or our family, we need to grow up and deal with it,, and make choices accordingly

I have no problem with gays or normal people. But, please, why can't they keep it in their own privacy. I am sorry that I'm not up with the times.

They're holding hands. Why should they refrain from doing that just to make people like you happy? If you actually had no problem with gay people, you wouldn't be reacting this way. And you wouldn't be calling her "this Ellen thing," either.

thats the advertising i was talking about... there is no need for it, it's just political posturing, nothing more...

No one is forcing you to watch the tv show. If you're watching it, you're making the choice to pay attention to them. If you don't like what you're seeing, stop watching. This is common sense. Again, they should not have to hide to appease you. If you don't like it, don't watch.
