The partner of my dreams WOULD LOVE my cats. LOL. Otherwise, he would not be the partner of my dreams.

Never happen. If they did not like my pets they are not the partner of my dreams. If tis an allergy, I would just keep them separate.

Well why must I give away the trust and loyalty of a faithful companionto please somebody who wants to get to know me firstly I'll be lyithenng to them and to me been someone I'm not and secondly if I'm happy with who I am then its best to be with someone who not only compliments me bit I compliment them too the instant you change for someone a seed of regret is planted in the relationship

Possibly, if they were allergic. No, if they just didn't like/want my pet. I would hope I'd find out they were allergic in the very beginning. And if that was the case, I'd let them know I am not planning on getting rid of my pet later on if we became more serious.

Sounds like they don't believe they can find a good home for their pet to me. I won't live with a cat...love 'em to death but they make me miserable.

Do you expect people to just give up their pets for you because you have allergies? What happens when it doesn't work out? They're without a relationship and the pet they gave up. There are medications for those with allergies. If a relationship is that important, perhaps look into that if your potential girlfriend has pets? Or make it known immediately that you have allergies and you can't date someone with pets?

I loved my dog more than most of my friends and if I had a situation like that, I suppose it would really test my love for the man. But seriously, keep in mind that my answer...the serious one anyway...is made by someone who does not cohabitate unless she thinks it's the REAL thing.

But seriously, keep in mind that my answer...the serious one anyway...is made by someone who does not cohabitate unless she thinks it's the REAL thing. Falling in love may not happen quickly. How long do you wait to decide to get rid of your pet in favor of your partner? Does he just not come over to your place until you've decided to get rid of your pet? Or, does this all happen in the beginning?
