I don;t agree that the relationship was necessarily for the wrong reason in the first place. That doesn't make sense

Depends on the amount and type of trust that is lost. The question was, "Can you sustain a relationship where there is NO trust?"... Ah, well, then my answer would have to be that it depends on the type of relationship I think romantic relationships are unsustainable even where there is little trust. Then I say stay single, enjoy your freedom, and play the field till the right one comes along and proves you wrong!! |

If you don't have trust why would you even be around that person?

If you don't have trust why would you even be around that person? And you know what else!! I don't understand how you regain trust once someone breaks it...Personally, I would always be waiting for the other shoe to drop and there is no way I'm living my life that way.... |

Yes, if the couple is willing to work at rebuilding the trust. No, even if you rebuild the trust their still doubt left. I also agree...It's never the same... Agreed! |

It depends on how deeply you love your significant other.
IF you are crazy about them, you'll try to make it work, trust or not. |

It depends on how deeply you love your significant other. IF you are crazy about them, you'll try to make it work, trust or not. I know Hippy, but "trying" to make it work is just not good enough...and when it comes to loving and being loved, it shouldn't be.... |

Any friendship is based on communication and loyalty.
If either one of those is not there, the friendship is not there. |

The guy who tried to win my trust back, was very clever in his tactics. He actually came across as over-exaggerating his apology. Asking me stuff that he wouldn't have asked before, like moving in together. He would constantly try to get my family members to convince me he was sorry. I thought about it, but couldn't change how I felt. And he didn't budge to even try and prove it. I notice actions, much more than words. ANYTHING can be said but not meant. Why should I buy into what someone says just because it SEEMS good?

No!

The simple answer is no. It is better to live alone if you can't trust them or they can't trust you.
