JennieBean..you mean you get money from the government you're always complaining about? wowwwwwwwwwwwwww
Its called retirement and they took money out of my paychecks all of my life for that purpose. I had no choice in the matter. Damn right I'm getting it back. I'll probably not even live long enough to get it all back. Not to mention the withholding taxes they took and kept all year long without paying any interest back to me for the overage they took and kept all year. so all the money the government took in taxes, you're getting it all back plus more ...wow what a country If you call SS payments "tax" -- Yes I hopefully will get it all back if I live long enough. I think it works more like insurance. In addition to SS, they also took out taxes. You don't get that back. |

I plan to live to 93.
Hopefully SS will still have money, but its doubtful. I will be lucky if I keep getting it for the next 5 years. |

Since I retired early by force (disease) I will definitely get all mine back! Yeehaw! Just won't get any interest on it...

I don't have a 'cable box' so they don't know what channels I watch on television. you can't pick up any television channel service without a cable box... The accuracy of facial recognition software is propaganda. It doesn't work well anyway. ok Special FBI Agent JennieBean When I renewed my drivers licence they took my picture and because my hair was different and I had no make up on their software could not even verify that I was the same person. I had to go home and get my birth certificate to get my licence replaced. the DMV is not the FBI Any actual person looking at the two pictures could tell I was the same person. Their computers couldn't do it, the DMV computers look at information not pictures...scanning pictures is the FBI's job.. so I'm not that worried about facial recognition programs or security cameras. your average seven eleven do not need or have this type of technology...so they probably just use the camera to see your face along with your license plates and/or tattoos, in which those that have such technology can access... They only know what I permit them to know. they permit you to believe that |

They are kinda silly as is anyone who believes these meters are a danger to their privacy. The only difference is these can be read from the street by a wireless device instead of them having to come into the yard or having to search for them. You are in the same "danger" from wifi. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHH scary Now, now, why be logical when hysteria will suffice? |

Yeh just be one of the sheeple and agree to every contract they force at you. and pay the extra charges for reading your meter with no objections. |

well sorry to say but they can say take the meter or you lose service the issue with not being prepared to do without just like public water the more "so called" services you subscribe to the more dependent you are on them the state says you have to register and insure your motor vehical and you have to pay for that to welcome to being controlled by others you could convert to being amish maybe |

'We have the right to violate your rights' Police now accompanying Smart Meter installations: Two homeowners arrested for saying NO! Tuesday, February 05, 2013 by: J. D. Heyes Cops in Naperville, Ill., a suburb of Chicago, have arrested two mothers after they attempted to block utility workers from installing so-called "smart meters" on their homes. The women, who were known to be vocal opponents of the wireless electric meters, apparently, were not the only smart meter opponents, however, because city officials told the Chicago Tribune they have ordered police to accompany utility crews as they install the meters on other homes where they were previously sent away. "The previous installation attempts were met with some resistance and we wanted to ensure our employees' safety," City Manager Doug Krieger told the paper. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHH scary Every single device you use will be known, even what kind of activities the devices are being used for can be known. Quite a lot of data can be extracted. We just need some legal teeth, prevent them from using or collecting this data. Wireless to get your usage data is benign, but all the rest is most assuredly NOT. |

We just need some legal teeth, prevent them from using or collecting this data. We should note that they CANNOT install smart meters without your agreement. When you receive the notice that a smart meter is going to be installed, that is an OFFER that they will presume you have accepted if you don't respond to the notice within a reasonable time (probably 30 days?) What people SHOULD do, is RESPOND to the notice (offer) with a counteroffer of their own (in other words, negotiate the contract, putting your own conditions on it) The question is what should the counteroffer look like? I can only say what mine would look like in a similar situation, so this is what I would say (I might clean it up a bit & cross the "t's"...this is only off the top of my pointy head, but it should at least give you the idea): I have received notice that a "smart meter" is scheduled to be installed on my home to replace the old one. I am willing to accept one if I can get a written guarantee that such a meter will in no way compromise the privacy and/or health of anyone living at or near the meter. As I understand it, the PURPOSE of a meter is to measure the amount of electricity used. I am of the opinion that ANY information other than that, including peak/trough usage readings based on time of day, or readings taken from various appliances could compromise a person's RIGHT to privacy. You shall therefore agree in writing that no information beyond the extent of information already taken by a standard meter will be taken from the new meter and that you are liable to a suit for invasion of privacy and breach of contract in the event that any additional information is obtained from the meter. In addition, you will guarantee in writing that the wireless transmission of meter information poses absolutely no hazard of any kind to living organisms in its immediate vicinity, basing the guarantee on a scientific study which proves absolutely that the meter's wireless unit poses no possible hazard to a living organism. In the absence of such proof, the precautionary principle shall prevail, and the meter must be considered a possible health risk and therefore shall not be installed if it incorporates a wireless unit, lest your company become liable to a suit for reckless endangerment and gross negligence at some future date. I trust these terms meet with your agreement. What are they gonna do when you respond to their "offer" with something like that for a counteroffer? Your guess is as good as mine, but if you have proof of service of your notice response, you just made the utility company totally liable for any damages the smart meter might cause...My guess is that they wouldn't install one. |

All I have to do to get cable is plug in the cable cord to the back of the television... unless the cable boxes are inside of the televisions and I can't see them. |
