I've been on Mingle a few months and have ran into my fair share of let's say less than honest and or authentic people. It seems almost impossible to meet someone who is really interested in a REAL relationship. HELP!

Just like in real life, it takes time.

I have met a few real men on here, and I only been here a couple of months. Of course I talk to MEN. Many are not on these Forums. Same people most on here.

Real? For starters honest, be from where you claim to be and your picture be really you! Every relationship that amounts to anything must be based on honesty, trust and respect... that takes time to develop and nurture.. nonetheless it's the bedrock of real relationships that can sustain and nurture friendship, romance, intimacy and love. A real relationship loves unconditionally and is committed for the long haul as it says "for better or for worse." A real relationship has a climate of compassion, forgiveness and a willingness to go the second, third, fourth mile... whatever is needed. Also known as unconditional positive regard.

That is a very nice definition. You will find many honest people here on the forums, but probably not in a few months.

Its the same in 'real life." And as you said above... its takes time to develop and nurture.

Keep reading the forums and welcome to Mingle2!

P.S. get a photo that does not cut off your head. And smile.

Keep it at e-mail for awhile, back and forth, get to know them...No different than real life, only typing instead of talking.

Good advice. Better to not have any expectations, have fun with meeting lots of people, I know I will know it when someone comes along that there is a genuine spark and connection with. Again, at the end of the day... it's not so much in finding the right person as it is in becoming the right person... that's my responsibility... being my best for myself and the people that God blesses me with in this life.

Maybe I want to meet an artificial person. Someone real probably has expectations.

Real and Honest I think most of us want that who are on the forums. Allot of scammers out there that aren't. I've found friends on here the people are who they say they are but we've taken time to know each other and meet, but not relationship wise seen a few on here work out but as I said few. Good you have a sense of faith. I see your separated might be a little bet of the problem. Try the over 50 group not a bad group of peeps.drinker

I can agree, I came into this seeing where things might lead... I now come away with well crap.. still single.... and done expecting anything but being disappointed. I swear I am not a mutant... :-P haha. It would be phenomenal to actually meet a guy (all things take time much agreed) that is truly interested in me, not what I will do for him. There is always room for friends in my life, I welcome attaining new ones. I am just at that point in my life where, I want to finally find someone that I can at last say "AH HAH!!" and be able to say that each day thereafter. I have met (most if not all just chatting through messages on here) some nice guys, but when it comes to putting in that effort to want to come see me.... yeh riight.
is it stupid to have my first date be: he comes to me first then I will go to him next? Just trying to see if I am being unreasonable given my circumstances (single mom, rarely get out when I do its when my daughter is in school or when on rare occasions she is with family.) I just dont know what to do anymore....
