Adjective Better, greater, or otherwise different from what is usual: "a special effort". Noun A thing, such as an event, product, or broadcast, that is designed or organized for a particular occasion or purpose. some use the word special to imply greater than, and some just use it to imply DIFFERENT than its amazing that we are all 'special' to our family, our surroundings, our histories and yet all 'equal' in being human? ,,,,, |

Never been called special but I have been called unique and an enigma. Was never quite sure if it was a compliment or an insult.

Never been called special but I have been called unique and an enigma. Was never quite sure if it was a compliment or an insult. lol, when I Was younger, we were raised not to insult people so 'special' was a less insulting way to point out that someone was not too bright or savvy, or whatever,,, I had a cousin who kept me in stitches telling other kids they were 'special',,,,especially when they would assume it was a statement intended to compliment and they would say 'thanx'....lol |

Sometimes you just can't win. haaa, thats the english language and yet another meaning for the same word so many words like that in our language, can mean something good bad or neutral,, depending upon context Hopefully it wasn't in "an intimate moment" just imagine if she had said that while on the verge of an intimate moment", she had "special needs", then you may have said, "Oh, are you handicapped?" |
