Was watching it on Tv and wondering what this world is coming too.
How awful for the family of the victims.
My heart goes out to each and every one of them.

I know what you are saying MSharmony, and Dodo I was crying too.
I also am very concerned for all those little children that saw such a horrific thing. That will likely stay with them throughout their entire lives.

The sentiments here I agree with!!! Each day we live pales in comparison to the big picture when something like this happens!! The shooter was the son of one of the mothers who worked at the school. They also say he killed himself. We often wonder why things such as this happen. People walk around with all of these issues going on inside and then one day they just do something like this!!!

The big picture gets very small when something like this happens. You truly just don't know!! Here are the mothers and fathers sending their offspring to the place they thought was safe(a school) and you find out in one chilling moment that it was not.

Condolences and prayers and thoughts go out to all of the families and the City of Newton Ct for the ordeal they have experienced!!! Terrible and sad as well!!!!!!

It made me cry too. Bless the little children and may the survivors not have too many nightmares over it.

This poem was published in Songs of Innocence in 1789. The innocence suggested within the poem is that sympathy alone can comfort and heal.

"On Another's Sorrow"

Can I see another's woe,
And not be in sorrow too?
Can I see another's grief,
And not seek for kind relief?

Can I see a falling tear,
And not feel my sorrow's share?
Can a father see his child
Weep, nor be with sorrow filled?

Can a mother sit and hear
An infant groan, an infant fear?
No, no! never can it be!
Never, never can it be!
And can He who smiles on all
Hear the wren with sorrows small,
Hear the small bird's grief and care,
Hear the woes that infants bear --

And not sit beside the next,
Pouring pity in their breast,
And not sit the cradle near,
Weeping tear on infant's tear?

And not sit both night and day,
Wiping all our tears away?
Oh no! never can it be!
Never, never can it be!
He doth give his joy to all:
He becomes an infant small,
He becomes a man of woe,
He doth feel the sorrow too.

Think not thou canst sigh a sigh,
And thy Maker is not by:
Think not thou canst weep a tear,
And thy Maker is not near.

Oh He gives to us his joy,
That our grief He may destroy:
Till our grief is fled an gone
He doth sit by us and moan.

And to think the shooter was once a small child, I wonder if he ever thought of that, what would have happened if someone would have taken his life so long ago, when he was small.
The big question is ... WHY? we will never probably know.

I think too many of our kids dont ever learn the value of life,,especially those with troubled lives themselves,,,

We live in such a crazy world, but no matter how bad it is, take your own life, not someone elses and not small children you dont' even know. Well at least we know the children are in heaven with God. That's the only saving grace. But the parents hearts are broken along with their spirits.

Having lived through the Carollton Bus Crash whose children were from Radcliff, Kentucky I can tell you that the families and the community will forever carry the scars in a profound way.

I just wonder what it is going to take to make us all stop and think of how we can prevent such dangerous weapons from getting in the hands of people who obvioulsy have not the character, maturity, or sanity to know or care about the consequences of their actions.

I would like to see every single person touched by this send pennys in leiu of tears to the Mayor of the community to build a memorial to the children and teachers.
