Are you more attracted to intelligent people?

Yes yes yes yes yes!

I can't imagine having the time to worry about it, most people don;t know what intelligence is

nearly all people posses an intelligence that exceeds the norm in some way - even those who may not express themselves well verbally

people who are not qualified to ***** the intelligence or mental capacity of others but do so anyway kinda get on my nerves

but not completely because we use our brains to understand by labeling and categorizing

and I understand that it's one of those nebulous concepts - I think in the context of this thread it is really more a matter of being on the same wave length and understanding each other with a similar intelligence or knowledge pattern

similar perception and information processing

Why don't you think people know what intelligence is? And why don't you think people would have time to worry about it?

People are not qualified to what the intelligence?

I asked because I did not understand exactly what you were saying. It helps in threads like this. Obviously, you cannot be forced to explain, though.

Are you more attracted to intelligent people? Or, do you find ditzyness a turn on?

I make it a rule to associate with people slightly dumber than I. Sometimes I don't even have to try.

I tend to go for someone I feel is on the same level as me, or who is smarter. I don't go for the dumber guys, though.

Well look at it from my method. It's a game you always win.

Of course intelligence is a turn-on. You know what else is? Niavete. Casual simplicity too. I have been known to own a few nice pair of smarty-pants myself but I don't want to come home wearing them every night to discuss astrophysics or neurological research. Sometimes the best conversations are with someone who might not be the brightest flare but bring true happiness and passion to the table. I'll take those over a Mensa cert any day.

Although it would be groovy to find all of the above.... ;)

Intelligence comes in many flavors. I favor the artistic, sharp tongued, playful type.

Intelligence and it needs to be on all three levels. Book smarts, common sense and social/humanist intelligence.

I'd have to say YES.. being around people with similar levels of intelligence, for me, is like Candy for ma Brain.. I can only tolerate so long those with less than a modicum of sense before I get frustrated at repeating myself OR having to find yet another way to explain things after already 5 tries..slaphead however.. I'm not much interested in brainiacs on ego trips either .. which reminds me.. there's a few rocket scientists I know that deserve a good pummeling!! pitchfork

laugh

I definitely find intelligence to be a turn on along with wit! I need to be able to converse with someone who understands what I am saying.

I tend to be attracted to someone who is smart and street smart, not to smart because I don't like to have discussions of the theory of relativity while trying to concentrate on tying my shoes.

I get turned-off by "know-it-alls." (People who think they know so much MORE than everyone else.)..I prefer to be around people who tend to be modest and humble. (Versus arrogant and self-righteous.)
