For those that want to cheat, any excuse would do. But I would think that depending on the length and depth of a ralationship that it would be different, such as:

Early in the relationship, maybe to assess and see if they want to take it farther after some thought away from the person.

later in the relationship if there are problems to see if they really want to keep the relationship or whether it would be better to just end it before it gets any more complicated as in living situations, family situations and such.

After a long time of a one sided always giving, well the person that is always the giving one may feel enough is enough and if it's getting no where, they might want to see if exhausting themself is worth it and if being separate would be better for all involved.

After a long marriage, it could be to see if it would spark some changes and if those changes would be worth devistating the family for or if there are no changes, whether it would be better for the family for the person to just accept that finality and live with that acceptance.

For whatever reason for each relationship I would think that the odds are... well that the relationship is close to an endbrokenheart Very few would survive a "time off".

I would say it is just and excuse to get out of the relationship they are in. They are either not happy, bored with their partner, or it has just ran it's course and they don't know any other way to put it...whoa

It could be to prompt some action from you. If they think the relationship is going nowhere just continuous dating, they may want to think about their future.

If a woman says she wants time off (or time to think) it means she wants to break up with you, and doesn't have the testicular fortitude to tell you yet.

That's Coward-speak for..."I want to f**k around, but keep you around in case I get tired of all the other whores/d**ks out there and decide to come back to you."

In that case, all bets are off. Enjoy your 'time-off' and find someone better.

time off is a seperation , or a break up that isnt definite

break ups are more of a permanent intention to move on

where as time offs are break ups with the option of gettinhg back together if the breakup deosnt work,,,

I think one time off is enough but if it keeps happening every 3 months then thats a serious problem??? Especially when **** happens between her/he and sum guy/girl bt then she/he says u wernt together dat time so it doesnt count as cheating???

Well if you had a POS car and sold it, why would you buy it back just because it had been washed? If the "relationship" isn't working then say goodby and move on. Why prolong the agony or lie to yourself?
