They are Swine for Launching out of populated Areas, knowing exactly that some of their own will get hurt or killed, but accepting it for "The Cause"! Despicable Swine! How can they NOT launch out of a populated area?...Gaza is the most densely populated region on earth. Israel dropped leaflets telling the citizens of gaza to avoid coming into close proximity of the violent extremists they were targeting. When people are packed together like sardines, where are they to go to comply with those instructions? Presumably, they had nowhere to go but their homes, but it appears they weren't safe there either, as Israel has bombed some private homes, killing their occupants. Are these "surgical strikes" against terrorists, or a campaign of terror bombing by Israel? http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/19/world/middleeast/israel-gaza-conflict.html?_r=1& Since Israel claims to be a Jewish state, maybe we should get the opinion of some Jewish people about the matter of Israel's attack on Gaza.: http://www.nkusa.org/activities/demonstrations/20121115.cfm |

They are using the citizens of Gaza as human shields. They don't really care about those poor people. Apparently neither does Israel. Actually, Israel does warn civilians and does attack only those who directly fire at them and Israel only directly attacka ammunition depots and launchers. It is Hamas who purposefully attacks civilians and who callously launch attacks next to innocent civilians to get them under retaliatory fire. Disgusting. And, Hamas could stop anytime and avoid further bloodshed but they choose to continue to kill both Israelis and Palestinians. |

So,why should they launch Rockets at all? To resist the illegal occupation of their land by a self-declared occupying state having no respect for international law that refuses to even move back to the Green Line? Where were the goddamn Demonstrations about the yearlong Rocket-Bombardment out of Gaza! Tell me! Where? As I understand it, the Jews against Zionism assert that the Zionist Regime shouldn't even be there in the first place. In terms of the general population's lack of sympathy for Israel, it's kinda hard to consider a bunch of people reduced to firing rocks & badly made roman candles as any kind of a credible threat to a nation with a huge, well-equipped army, and scads of sophisticated weaponry, including about 200 or more nukes, especially when that state spends its days on the West Bank cutting down Palestinian olive trees, tearing down their homes and ousting them from their own land to build illegal settlements. |

Maybe you ought to read res.242! Then come back to us! I took your advice and looked at UN Security Council Res. 242. Here it is: U.N. SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 242 NOVEMBER 22, 1967 The Security Council, Expressing its continuing concern with the grave situation in the Middle East, Emphasizing the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war and the need to work for a just and lasting peace in which every State in the area can live in security, Emphasizing further that all Member States in their acceptance of the Charter of the United Nations have undertaken a commitment to act in accordance with Article 2 of the Charter, Affirms that the fulfillment of Charter principles requires the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East which should include the application of both the following principles: Withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict; Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force; Affirms further the necessity For guaranteeing freedom of navigation through international waterways in the area; For achieving a just settlement of the refugee problem; For guaranteeing the territorial inviolability and political independence of every State in the area, through measures including the establishment of demilitarized zones; Requests the Secretary General to designate a Special Representative to proceed to the Middle East to establish and maintain contacts with the States concerned in order to promote agreement and assist efforts to achieve a peaceful and accepted settlement in accordance with the provisions and principles in this resolution; Requests the Secretary-General to report to the Security Council on the progress of the efforts of the Special Representative as soon as possible. While I know Israel argues that it doesn't have to withdraw from ALL the conquered territories, it's a poor argument, and not in keeping with international law, or the spirit of the resolution, which clearly emphasizes "the inadmissibility of the acquisition of (ANY) territory by war". So Occupied Palestine (or any portion thereof), by international law, CANNOT be legally annexed by Israel (neither can East Jerusalem). Therefore the building of ANY Israeli settlements on occupied land is clearly an egregious breach of international law, as is Israel's treatment of the Palestinian people. Israel is now the preeminent military power in the Middle East and clearly has no logical excuse for occupying Palestinian land for "security" reasons and certainly no lawful excuse for allowing such inhumane treatment of people with a lawful, hereditary claim to that land. I also note another breach of Res. 242 in the attack (in international waters) by Israeli forces on the Mavi Marmara which resulted in the murder of nine aid workers. Israel can claim till it's blue in the face that it was "defending itself", but the simple fact is that it was an act of piracy and state terror committed on the high seas in clear breach of the law of nations and international maritime law. So much for "guaranteeing freedom of navigation through international waterways in the area." So when is Israel going to to meet the conditions set by Res. 242 in 1967? I would have thought that 45 years might have been enough time to do that, but hey…maybe I'm kinda impatient; I know these things take time… Should Obama support Israel against Gaza? That's a tough call for him to make. From all the UN resolutions and Israel's flagrant disregard for them (as well as for the UN itself), I dare say that the UN opposes Israel's entirely disproportional attack on Gaza. On the other hand, Israel's stranglehold on Washington is pretty tight. Obama is currently selling out the American people to both the UN and Israel, but he can't keep sucking up to both. No man can serve two masters. He's gonna have to decide right quick which one owns him and his country. |

How many logical fallacies can one cram into a post? Note the rhetoric: "badly-made Roman Candles" ![]() |

Well now, let's see..... The United States has conducted hundreds of drone missions in Pakistan since 2004.
Do they count as "Rockets?" Why isn't Pakistan launching an all out war against us? Oh that right... we are only killing and targeting "the bad guys." Not true..... sometimes our drones are not so smart. Editor's note: Mirza Shahzad Akbar is Reprieve legal fellow in Pakistan, Director and Founder of Foundation for Fundamental Rights and a practicing human rights lawyer in Islamabad. He represents a number of families of victims affected by drone strikes. Islamabad (CNN) -- On March 17, 2011 a drone attack killed at least 40 members of a Wazir tribal Jirga, which was resolving a land ownership dispute among sub-tribes in Waziristan, a mountainous region in northwest Pakistan, according to local media reports. The reports claimed the Jirga was not the intended target and the predator was chasing a car before finally executing five people without any trial or due process near the Jirga. While this predator was hovering in the area, sophisticated cameras allegedly picked up images of a bigger gathering. Without appearing to have any intelligence or knowledge of its target, it fired four more missiles at the congregation. http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/04/opinion/pakistan-drone-attacks-akbar/index.html |

And Obama said on National News in regards to Israel and Gaza:
"There's no country on earth that would tolerate missiles reigning down on its citizens from outside it borders." Here listen if you don't believe me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqvGRIVr1G8&feature=youtu.be So apparently he does know its wrong. |

What Hamas is doing by shooting rockets indiscriminately into Israel is indeed wrong by any standard and we all know it. We also know that such terrorists must be confronted and stopped with targeted attacks like those used via drones in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen. This is a perfectly consistent and morally justified position and confronting the terrorists and eliminating them is effective and lets everyone see that we will not tolerate terrorist intimidation or attempts to deny our freedoms in the name of backwards Islamic fundamentalism and petty religious bigotry. ![]() |

You better hope Obama never suspects you of being a terrorist. I understand you only need to be a suspect. There are no trials.

Ah, who am I kidding... Either they didn't say it, or they were just full of righteous indignation & hot air, gutless cowards that they were. Israel was created by terrorism, and requires the continued use of state terror to kill or drive out the indigenous people of Palestine so they can finish stealing a land that was never rightfully theirs. Good thing the middle east isn't a beauty contest, because I'm pretty sure Israel blew the "Miss Congeniality" award. |
