I will have to post some pics of my kitchen on here as I did it myself.

You should. I love to peek at other people's projects, it sometimes gives me some good ideas for my own bigsmile

Here is my kitchen photo. The cabinets were a dark brown, the counter was white, and floor was linolium. I went with a light Tildam oak for cabinets, darker counter, and laminate for flooring. Also redid the railing and bannister to compliment the kitchen.

My old house had dark cabinets, but it was large. My kitchen here is much smaller and my lighter cabinets help to not make it feel as tiny as it is bigsmile Yours has a nice open feel to it. especially the open rails to the stairs. You can (and rightly so) pat your back, you did a great job on your kitchen:smile:

Thanks so much. I found too that when I put in the lighter cabinets that the kitchen does look bigger and because its brighter; I quite enjoy being in there. I also ripped up all my shag carpeting in the living room and dining room and ran the laminate throughout the house; including the bedrooms. I also took down the ugly wall paper and painted. I have a couple of pictures of the dining room and the living room. The paneling around the fireplace and window has since been removed and the living room looks a lot lighter now.

Good choice in taking down the paneling. It makes the floor stand out more. I'd love to do a laminate floor in a hallway downstairs, but I have too many other little projects in mind first, and I have to work around my budget  I think people would be surprised at what women can do when they have to laugh I had a very old house before and a very small budget so I learned to do alot of things and got better at it over the years. I can paint and spackle pretty good by now. Oh yea... demolition can help you work out alot of frustrations (as you're hitting the wall with a hammer) Really nice work you did. Thanks for sharingdrinker

Navylove, how do you go in and out of the kitchen? the entrance/exit stairway seems to be completely cordonned off.

So when you somehow work your way into your kitchen, after that you can never leave.

"California kitchen."

I like that design.

I would like it better if the woman handcuffed her ankle to the railing, on her own pro-active initiative of a lifelong commitment to self-improvement, to make the allegory even more compellingly comprehendible.

"Trallala, I make sandwiches for my husband on demand, tralalala, I am an "on a "need to eat"-basis sandwich cook," tralalala," she sings in an impeccable elaborate hairdo, a summer dress, that is really narrow in the waist and not too wide at the hips, an apron, and high heels, with nylons that have that black line in the centre in the middle running up the leg.

Yeah, my kind of woman.

If any of you ever meet her, please tell her that I love her.

Thanks again. Yeah; I was on a budget too when I did the house. The laminate was on sale so by the time I did my whole upper level and two bed rooms; it only came to about $600.00. The kitchen was a Ikea kitchen which not only is easy to install but it was about $2400; including the sink, taps, and counter. I took a professional painting course while I was in the military so that helped me out a lot. I even learned electrical work and installed the lights in the kitchen and now have replaced the lights in the dining room and living room. I will take another couple of pictures with the most recent changes. I quite like doing the renos as I can decorate the place my way and gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Its nice to meet women like you that can also do renos and aren't afraid to try something new. I really love that shower job you did and you have given me some ideas for decorating my bathroom.

I collected them from doing walks. You can do 10, 20, 42, or 100 km walks for them. Great way to stay in shape and some collectibles. I did give a whole bunch away though as I just had way too many.
