these terms seem to be used interchangably but they dont actually mean EXACTLY The same thime

PREJUDICE: a (1): preconceived judgment or opinion (2): an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge
BIGOT" one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

RACIST' one who holds : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

RACE"

a: a family, tribe, people, or nation belonging to the same stock

b: a class or kind of people unified by shared interests, habits, or characteristics

NATIONALITY"
b: membership in a particular nation

NOTE: my race is African American, my nationality is American, my religion is Christian (Baptist to be more specific)

NOTE: All racists are bigots, but not all bigots are racists and not all racists or bigots have to dislike a group they are not a part of, some are self hating

racists and bigots have strong PREJUDICES about individuals that are based in some pre conceived and usually bigoted idea about a group

Race is a made-up category, just like they made up the word Hispanic for the Census. Did you mention Culture? When I lived in So. Cali. I needed to know more than just who spoke Spanish as the Mexicans were different from the Puerto Ricans who were different from the other Carribeans, who were different from So. Americans, who were different from the Spanish. Now should I go into the Pacific Islanders, you can generally easily get a free meal from a Fillipino woman but not so a Samoan. And the Native Americans...

farrakhan has prejudices

farrakhan has racist opinions

Farrakhan also has valid points when he speaks about history here and around the world,,,

I happen to believe all americans to have or have had prejudices and racist opinions,, we call them usually 'stereotypes' and consider them of the 'harmless' variety,,,

essentially, in america, one is either racist by environmental indoctrination, or a recovering racist by aggressive intellectual intervention

Farrkhan has changed in his seventy some years as well, though not as drastically as Malcolm has

thats the beautiful part about humans, their capacity to learn, evolve, grow, and change,,,,

Now of course that is a basic principle of mental health. I cannot help you with your second point of being a cheapskate! HOWEVER, back to the topic. I think it is also very important to discuss which ethnic food is gonna have me in the head for three days. Now from Thai to Southern Belles this obsession with cooking with peppers I believe is wholly unnatural! Is that just my "culture"?

So Charlize Theron was born in South Africa. Charlize Theron was born in Africa but is not an African American

You where born in America. You call yourself an African Amercian but you where not born in Africa.

Makes no sense to me. Why do we have to fill that bubble for race on an application anyway.

It is a separatism tactic.
They feel mo special.

My negro friends, again, are not from africa and they get very upset being called african. They say it's an extreme insult.

All the years I have floated around this country of all creeds and colors I have a hard time seeing how whatever recipe your genetics are have that much to do with who you are as a person. Accomplishment, talent, dignity, honor, respect, love, faithfulness, nutureing, even pleasure with another person doesn't hang on genetics.

When you are needing a hand because you are alone, hungry, sick, suffering, greiveing, scared, or just the chore at hand is bigger than you are you don't care if someone is a creed or a color is different from your own if they care for, protect, or help you.

it makes more sense from the perspective of Nationality VS race

I am born in America so my NATIONALITY is american
CHarlize is born in S Africa, so her NATIONALITY is S African (s africa is a country on the CONTINENT of Africa, which is not a country)

I am a descendant of African blood (west african , which is designated in the US as black , where as S african is designated as white)

so my RACE is african american, whereas Charlize race is not african american (Because she is not of WEST AFRICAN descent) , but is instead considered 'white'

it doesnt make me feel special at all
and it is no more a 'tactic' than a biological description of male vs female

it is just a way to categorize a common biology/ancestry ,,etc,,,

I dont like to be called 'black' because nowhere in the english language does the word hold anything but NEGATIVE connotations semantically and it comes nowhere close to describing anything about me
