On 9/11/2001 I was the mother of two sons, ages 6 and 8. I distinctly remember thinking that it would be my worst nightmare come true if one day they had to fight in this war that had been started (by our own leaders....but I'll leave that alone for now). Today I got the text message that my oldest, who is my step-son, would be deployed. So, my worst nightmare has come true. I hate this ******** war, I hate these ******** fake "leaders" running our country. In fact, right now I hate this country. I have no hope left for us and, quite frankly, I think we deserve whatever we get for having our heads so far up our ***** that we allowed this happen. I will not vote this year. I will not participate in this farce of a government. We are now going to get what we deserve for buying into the never ending stream of crap that we have chosen to believe. Hope and change my ***. Our government, both Republicans and Democrats will laugh all the way to the bank while we cry for our dead sons and daughters. Good job, America.

I feel for you

America has been deploying sons and daughters into dangerous areas since the inception of the military

its why I will not encourage or support my son ever enlisting,,

at the same time, I have another close relative in a very high rank and very dangerous job,, but I am thankful those like him exist who are willing to take the risks,,,

I hear you loud, unfortunately, the next big conflict will indeed require the return of the draft. As we are indeed well stretched thin.

We were blessed when we were...
One Nation Under God!

United we stood, divided we began to fall.

We have let vain philosophies divide us.

It was not America's choice to be attacked. It was not America's
choice to have irrational violent reactions to cartoons and movies.
Nevertheless we are attacked and we have to deal with irrational
bigotry and hatred based on ignorance and religious intolerance.

We all suffer and anger. Our condemnation should not be directed
at our own government but at those who attack us and at those whose
backwards ignorance and religious hatred causes the violence.

Wrong, religion is a smoke screen for the true quest for power, resourses, oil and strategic positioning. Violence is the result of a powerfull nation in nations that dont want us their. Their armies are not in our country. We are and have been in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philipeans, Africa, the Middle East, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Herzogovina, Somalia, South Africa, Panama, Grenada, Nicaragua, all covert operations to dominate world politics. WE ARE AN EMPIRE,HELLO! As for violence, its just a matter of time before we are involved in a big major conflict. Will youbfight? I doubt it, most who defend their goverments secret incurssions world wide want others to fight. But do you really know what these wars are really about? I doubt that you do. And never expect goverment to tell you. I for one had my face in the ****, and my sons already know only fight an invader, not for Isreal or anyother country. Its time for America to get out of the corporate business, if not all our children will inherit war for generations to come, you want to fight for Isreal? Be my guest.

Was your son drafted?

Very good question.

Muslims killed people on our soil, politicians made big speeches, dumba$$ kids fell for it and enlisted.

Happened in Vietnam now 9-11.

Guess what?

In a few years history will repeat.

So, if the US is an empire, of the countries listed, which has a Governer sent by Washington to oversee the collection of taxes and raw materials? Which of the countries listed have no military and are policed by US units? Which of the countries listed answer to the US consitution and judicial system? I can't seem to find a map of the Empire of the United States of America.

 Anyone who believes our gov't (NOT our country) and the people of power in it, are working for us, with our best interests in mind, is dillusional!

The choices and policies of our "leaders and representatives" have brought us to this point, created and caused this hatred for us.....not our freedoms..... we now have less freedom than most 3rd world countries! The "terrorists" have already beaten us with our own gov't help!

I love my country, but I fear my gov't!

War affects everyone differently, but military families face added stress related to fear and concern for their loved one(s) and anger and frustration toward their country and its leaders...Deployment is harder for some because everyone handles stress differently...I hope the intensity of your feelings, especially the hopelessness you expressed in your OP, will decrease over time Ruth....

I am very sorry you are so upset about your son being deployed.

I asked the questions "Was he drafted?" knowing full well the answer.

What did he expect (or your expect when you proudly attending his graduation from boot camp)?

We encourage our children to go off to forgein lands and kill other innocent civilians. And then we complain when they dont come home.

Stop giving our children to these war witches! Stop glorifying the military as some heroic event.

Not my child! NO WAY NEVER!
