So what should one do if they save themselves then after marriage find they are quite incompatible in the sack?

Hopefully they wouldn't rush into such a commitment.

Kinda funny that you think only the FIRST time should be special. Losing your virginity should be no more special then any other time you share your self in the most intimate way with someone else.

Just like the first time you do anything. There is a learning curve. Virgin sex is just bad since you have no idea what you are doing. Experience and not being uptight about sex makes sex that much more enjoyable. Practice makes perfect.

Casual promiscuous sex is just bad. Holding out for marriage is also just bad.

There are just some people that you arent compatible with sexually. What a rude awakening that would be when you find out after you are married.

Would you buy a car and not drive it first? Would you buy a pair of shoes and not try them on first?
I never really thought about sexual chemistry before

It's really not the same thing, or at least shouldn't be regarded as such.

I mean, loving someone and appreciating a car or a pair of shoes should be totally different things, but seems now a days more and more people are treating love just as such.

Eh, it's a compatibility thing. So, I can see why that comparison was used.

Also, not everyone has to be in love to have sex. There's nothing wrong with that. Just as there is nothing wrong with waiting. It's all about preference.

True,

I was thinking more along the lines of serious relationships and marriage.

at my age (43) I would be concerned with someone that had postponed intimacy that long of a period in their life

I think it would be too much pressure to be their 'first' or 'only'

Can I just say, it shouldn't matter what we on this forum think. As none of us have anything to do with your next relationship. flowerforyou. I understand trying to test society's opinions, but if some aren't gonna accept you for being you, are those ones really worth bothering with? I have total 100% respect for anyone who waits. Shows you're putting your own needs first. It seriously is none of my business, but you did ask :) Also, as well as your mind, your body will accept it when it's ready to. There's no age limit.

Right, but people have sex before they get serious and before they get married - before they fall in love. Many people don't wait until they're in love.

That doesn't answer the question, though. Perhaps the sex will get better after a bit, but what if it doesn't?

It would almost be like waiting to kiss someone for the first time. worrying about saving it is too much pressure. you should do what feels right for you. I have known those that have saved it for mr right expecting everything to then be perfect and the whole Mr. right things goes down the drain. bottom line there are pro's and con's but you have to make your own decisions cause no one but you has to answer for them.
Agreed. I will say when I lost my virginity, it wasn't special, but it was something great to experience. To some, keeping your virginity for that special other will be perfect, yet on the other hand, others just simply love sex. Its just like some looking for commitment while the others perfer the single life. Its all in what you feel and want.

I don't care for it. Too much pain and you have to be careful. They don't know what they are doing. I don't like the idea of delivering them. I don't want that responsibility.

I think a woman should only give herself to the man that she loves because virginity is a 1 in a life time thing once lost it can't be recovered even time is somewhat recoverable but not virginity...don't lose it if yoi think you'll regret it

When a man loses his virginity before marriage, that's when he becomes a somebody.

When a woman loses her virginity before marriage, she becomes a slut.

When a man loses his virginity only in marriage, he is a wimp.

When a woman loses her virginity in marriage, she becomes highly respected.

- - - - - - - - -

This is the classic double-standard paradigm.

--------------

When nobody loses his or her virginity before, in, or after marrisage, they are holy.

This is the Jewish Ultraorthodox, and the Christian holy couple paradigm.

--------------

When a woman gives birth to a child while being a virgin, that's a miracle.

Christian-Jewish paradigm for sinless birth to bear a god or a Messiah.

--------------

During armageddon nobody will lose their virginity; entire countries' populations will die without anyone losing their virginity.

This is the worst-case scenario paradigm

--------------

When you die in battle as a virginal soldier, you are a "pink cherry". When you survive being wounded, you get a pink heart. When you are a base supply commander, you have so many lovers from the environs around base, that you get blue balls. When you a soldier and not a team-player, you are black-balled.

This is the army virginal paradigm.

-------------

If you are settled, and you are made fertile, and you grow wheat, then you are called a "virgin land".

-------------

When you are a piece of dry land in the Greek Seas, and you have a bunch of poet chicks who laze about totally naked, then you are both, aT the same time and in the same respect, one of the Virgin Islands, and Lesbos.

Time is recoverable? Tell the Nobel Prize committee. You're going to be a winner for sure.

And virginity has been recovevable for many decades now. I have had class mates in my own school, back forty-forty-five years ago, who had that operation done. It's a simple procedure of reconnecting torn-up pieces of the hymen. In my days they used to do it by sewing it up with surgical threads, but now they have more modern method, that use medical/surgical gues and tapes.

In fact, Pfeiffer Industrial Chemicals (the one who came up with the Nicotine Patch) is about to announce the self-application to be offered in drug stores over the counter to preferred customers, a self-adhesive titanium-powder base tincture, which the adventurous Arab or Italian ex-virgin can apply herself to become a girlie-girl again.

But market research predicts that it's going to be much more popular for the male self-healing process, and the mass consumption will rely on revenue from male users.

Becasue virginity is reaccessible for women. But not for men.
