Are you talking about splitting-up with someone? Or just not having "love feelings" for a good friend who would like to have "more?" Just curious...I was best friends and super close to a guy in high school for several years. In the end I knew he felt a lot of love for me too. I loved him as a "dear friend." But I just couldn't muster-up any "romantic" type of feelings for him no matter how hard I tried. And I felt "bad" about it too...I feel the same way about a friend right now. He's been a "family friend" to me and my husband and son for several years now...He started "checking" on me every so often after my husband died. And he "checks" on me now because he knows my son has been dealing with brain tumors...Lately I get the feeling that he would like "more" than friendship at some point and this makes me nervous at times...I've cut-back on our calls and visits. He's a wonderful friend and a great person. But it's doubtful that I would ever have "romantic" feelings towards him. We're very different and don't have much in common. And he knows that I haven't felt ready to go on dates with anyone yet...I get the feeling that he is trying to set himself up as "first in line" when I am ready to date. (And this feels weird.) But it's hard to bring it up since he hasn't made any "big time moves" yet.

Sadly I have been told that I did. Usually way to late for it to do any good.

Kind of ridiculous because I tell people very honestly where they stand with me so there should be no confusion. I don't get loving anyone who obviously doesn't love you back or doesn't even know you are interested. Had that happen a couple times. Sometimes people believe what they want to believe wheater it makes any sense or not.

My son's birthfather is trying to tell it I broke his heart. I made it very clear from the start what I would and would not put up with ( lying, drunkenness, cheating, being abusive) and when he started that balogny I dropped him like a hot rock. Shocked him. He told everyone I would never leave him. Wrong!

Guys who think they will just hang around until it is mutual, or my guess think you might give them a chance in a weak moment, are very creepy. Those I usually run off in no uncertain terms.

I would not say I have broken anyone's heart. With the bad choices people have made, I have walked away. They chose not to follow. Then sadly their hearts broke.

How could you ever really know?...A broken heart is subjective...If I had to guess, I would say yes, I have broken a few hearts..never frivolously and never intentionally and never without suffering some breakage of my own....

Good you got away!...It is creepy to have someone waiting in the "wings" with hidden and secret intentions and motives etc.

I don't know if I have. If I did so, it wasn't intentional.

Not me. I'd only be causing myself heartache, as well as whoever I was meant to have loved. Why would I choose to xheat on someone if I really do love him? Love and cheating, two very separate things. Imo.

So probably not. I never hurt anyone intentionally and tended to stay in relationships rather than hurt anyones feelings by leaving.
