Myself gets into trouble on mingle so no. I have to tone myself way down to a numbing homeschooled child filled naïveté.

I absolutely tone it down here on Mingle.
I have come to think of it as a good thing. Here, I am moderated with the potential to get smacked around....or have some indignant panzie gets offended and bootyhurt because I call a panzie a panzie. No schitt....in real life, I am actually way more blunt than I am here. To the greater extent...I do portray the self I actually am....but, I gotta tone my stuff down for all the delicate jungle orchids who gotta have everything thier way to blossom. So..I guess my actual answer is....I am me...but, I am forced to make nice with the pale soft handed people...cause they can get me spanked....So I hold back.....alot. |

Well, it is like Krupa states, there are a mixture of people here and my posts could be taken seriously by the humourless and people from other cultures who message me alot. I am also better looking than my photos reveal. jk

I have to be myself too. Never been able to do the delicate prissy opinions and I figure I would get called on it if I tried.
Yea sometimes I can be solitious or even nurturing but if I think someone needs their ears pinned back or called on their stuff I really don't care where the chips fall. I feel like if people don't like it they can get over it. I try not to be intentionally cruel while still being honest but if you are going to come on and adult site you have to have your big kid pants on. Or at least not ask for an opinion if all you want is attention or play. I would hope people would not edit what they say for fear of being given a hard time. To me the different opinions and so on are what makes this interesting. I kind of like some of the Dark Humor and especially the cutting up but seems like some of that has to be edited out because too many have to take it too far. |

Very good question.
I think everyone wants to be themselves. It’s just, as many already indicated, that they have to be tactful and be considered to others. Sometimes that could mean holding back even though others are not. I am always myself but there are times where part of being myself means I react to someones comment strongly or in an extreme. I have to step back and think about why that is and I try to be fair to the poster and to make sure what I perceive is not a misunderstanding. |

I quite often read others advice of 'just be yourself' here in the forums. In theory it is sound advice, but realistically, when people are being 'themselves', they tend to get ripped apart by people for doing that.....tis like watching rabid dogs fighting over a piece of meat at times. Soooo...are you being yourself on here? OR...are you complying to the masses and only allowing that which is considered 'acceptable behaviour'? I think people are always 'themself' personally I just think they are sometimes not a self that makes them feel as comfortable as other 'self's might |

Am I being myself??? What do you think?! He's holding a guitar. Slowhand was Eric Clapton's nickname. I always thought that was the connection, we'll find out when he answers. |

That is probably it. Well you learn new things everyday, huh?

Yep I am always the same, I don't care what people think, I don;t mind if your opinion is different to mine, I may argue but I will still respect what you think and expect you to be the same with me.
I am who I am. |

I believe people are situation appropriate and only show the side (or sides) of them that they want others to see at that time. For example: ever go to work with someone and get to know the work side of them, then go to their house and see a completely different person? Same goes with church, sports, sex, hobbies, web, family and what ever else each of us might be uniquely into.
I also believe that people who say they have thick skins have some of the thinnest among us. Their defence is offence right from the beginning. They talk about the way others are to protect themselves from the legitimacy of those others. They paint a picture of their norm as being the only norm to hide their own insecurities, or proclaim that they are so different as to cast an image of superiority over those who might be a threat or challenge to them. To be totally honest I would say that the me on mingle is the mingle me. It's the me I want people to see on a social/dating sight and is far different from the me seen by my peers in biz (biz being my life's work). In some ways it's a more open me as in the rest of my life I am far less approachable. |

Am I being myself??? What do you think?! He's holding a guitar. Slowhand was Eric Clapton's nickname. I always thought that was the connection, we'll find out when he answers. Well I like Clapton certainly so there is that! But also I chose it because I think it describes me in more than one way. So Leigh2154 is definitely onto me... I like the song of that title especially the Pointer Sisters version. But I must say it was really a close decision between that and "XomgHeySexyomgX" - agonized over it for several seconds. Speaking of naming conventions... I always thought o.h. should get in touch with one of my former fun playmate forum friends from back in the justsayhi days... You're in Tx right?
