As I said, white advocate groups need to sue the stations and boycott the sponsors if anything is to change. yep, on all those media where you see black folks disparaging white people,,,you should go for it,,,particularly media you actually would be watching yourself,,, if a black man jokes about, lets say, how he might rape a patrons wife,,,be outraged or if one calls out a patron by a racial slur,,,be outraged at that too or if one singles out white female athletes by some particularly stereotypical slur/insult,,,,maybe calling them tricks instead of hoes,,, be outraged,,, I hope you will be, I will be too and go to action,,,, |

A Twit storm in a teapot! I'm now going to have to avoid making a number of racially insensitive but hilarious repartees! But if you absolutely have to get another dose along the same lines then you can always watch: "Undercover Brother" http://youtu.be/lFn1SZj59x8 No better way to celebrate Fried Chicken Day - especially with a trip to Popeyes. |

I keep reading and waiting, reading and waiting....It seems the "n" word is so taboo we can't even say it during a friendly discussion...Why do we continue to give one word so much power.....
I looked up some other "n" words: nOObz nOObie nOObish nympho numbnutz neo-nazi nerd nincompoop ninny nitchie nip How come we don't refer to these labels as the "n" word? |

I was raised on the coast of Southern Ms. The signs I remember stated Coloreds. That was one of the pc terms at that time.
The Grayhound Bus depot in Waveland, on Hwy 90, was the last place to take down their sign. |

LOL I dont care for chris rock,, but he usually leaves them cracking up when he is putting other black folks down this time, I guess he offended some folks (other than blacks),,lol i never had a problem with CR... he has always seemed like a wannabe racist, like he just says things that he really doesn't believe just to make money... watch him in "dogma" and you will see what i'm talking about I agree with you that he knows just what to say to make money. He's a comedian. He makes people laugh and makes money. Dogma was very funny! I don't think that if Adam Sandler, Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, Bill Engvall or Larry The Cable Guy gave interviews bashing black people and calling them the N word left and right they would be labeled as genious and smart comedians, they would be burned at the stake. they wouldnt get away with it because they cant be considered negros themself they do however, make a living using and embracing 'redneck' stereotypes,,,because they are poking fun of 'their own' happens quite a bit in comedy, Rock isnt alone in that,,,, But it's ok for Rock to call white people white trash, rednecks, honkies, crackers (which is offensive just like the N- Word.) |

It's about context.
You can't (always) take something that is said for comedic value as self belief. |

What would happen here if, that tabooed "n" word was typed out here on this very forum? Would it be as ok, embraced and free to type as the words cracker and honkie? Why aren't these terms taboo? Is it because it's become "acceptable" for whites to be openly, verbally abused? Why would that one word be censored and the "white" one who typed it banned permanently? Or would they be? Only the censors can answer that question. |

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I heard cracker or whitey.
Guess the New Black Panters never use those words. They're now comedians? |

But it's ok for Rock to call white people white trash, rednecks, honkies, crackers (which is offensive just like the N- Word.) Really? These words are offensive? Does it offend you when Jeff Foxworthy makes "you might be a redneck" jokes? Does he use those words in his jokes? |

The "n" word has no power over me nor am I personally offended by it's use. Derrogatory terms used in jokes slamming whites are offensive. Why is it embraced when one race does it and condemned when another race does the same. Hypocritical and racist. Why did Imus apologize? I guess, to even the playing field, whites need to threaten to sue stations that allow negro's berating whites? The N word has no power over you and doesn't offend you, yet words like whitey and cracker offend you? You think it's hypocritical and racist when people use those words, yet are offended by the N word? Is it hypocritical of you to be offended by those words, yet be fine with the use of the N word? |
