Not at all, though it might be pretty weird if my kids showed up on the boards here. (Both are currently single)

LOL after some of the bantering I do in the forums here, I dunno if I'd want people in real life knowing about my life on here...

Why? Are you different here than you are in real life?

How'd they get the idea that it was a porn site? haha. Dating sites are fairly normal these days.

As much as many of them advertise you would think so, but apparently for many they are still some sort of taboo.

now seriously: no, I wouldn´t be embarrassed at all.

Then why are you blushing?

Am I??? ... I just happen to have rosy cheeks,

Nobody knows I am here. Not even my own daughter!!

Mainly because I never have had any children.

I have never concerned myself with what other people think. Life is too short. :-)

Nope, not at all. Heck my kids know I'm on this site and have been for a long time... They just shake their head and say well if that makes you happy...

But then they also know about the meets I have bee on and think it is neat that I at least get out once in a while and do something...bigsmile

So, your kids know your a freak and come get drunk with us while orgasming on mint stuffed chocolates while sleeping with strange Krupalopes....

:)

Yeah, Krupa I told them about your cot bed with no mattress...

LOl dude I have gotten drunk at my kids parties lmao....drinker

Nah not a bit. But them I am retired so maybe if I had to deal with some employee/employer BS I would self edit a little more. (LOL if you believe that I have some Brooklynn Bridge stock I can sell you.)

Couple of my neighbors were a bit offended that another neighbor read about my Dad on here, and told them before I did. but some of you are better friends.

A married mutual friend pointed out a couple people on site, and others, she thought I should e-mail. She gave another coworker a copy of my profile and we dated until he was transfered out of state.

My family regularly refer people to my profile from their area hoping I will move back in their area. lol Bless their little pea-pickin hearts one actually let me trip over the guy I have on my sort list. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Why would they use your account rather than creating their own?

Great attitude. I share it.

would it bother you? Would you feel awkward or embarrassed that someone you know found out you have a profile on a dating site?

Nope not at all. I mentioned it to several friends that I was on this site. Most people I know are on Tagged, Badoo, Plenty of fish and other dating sites so it wouldn't bother anyone that I was on this.

Yes, this is why I use a generic pic. I'm not yet comfortable enough to fully advertise myself.

Eh, it's becoming less and less taboo. I think it's stranger these days to be embarrassed to use a site like this to meet new people.

I think that depends on your age group. I would think younger people find dating sites more "normal". Those of us who are the product of their spouses midlife crisis and finding themselves thrown suddenly into the modern dating seen are not as dating site saavy.

So, you use a pic that is not you so that others you know cannot find you? If they see you here, chances are, they're using the site, too. Why worry about it?

I ask myself about this and I guess if some of my peers spotted me and said something I would disappear. I have had people recognize me and send me mail but all they did was rib me a little. If it ever showed up in trade press though, I'd be out of here in a flash.

Mingle I think is pretty harmless compared to being on other dating sites cause it's more of a social site than dating I would say. At least that's the way I have described it when asked.

Why would you disappear?

Why are other dating sites harmful (as opposed to being harmless like mingle)?

It would depend on who it is.
