A few of us over in the 50's are talking about having another MingleMeet at Palo Duro Canyon, in the Texas Panhandle..We'd stay in the cabins on the rim of the canyon. The earliest we can get reservations is for the 2nd and 3rd of November.. Would anyone else like to join us? |

Sounds cool. Never been there.
MapQuest says 5 hrs from Abilene and that ain't bad. Who's **** do I gotta suck to get an invite? :) (what's the story on the cabin thing?....I ain't a huge fan of camping beneath the stars...snuggling up with snakes, tarantulas, mosquitos, etc. .....how much do the cabins run so I can pitch in?) |

You'd better get your sexy little azz up there for this one! I'm sure we can get you snuggled up with something two legged and human for a song. |

I reserved a cabin for the guys. We can split the cost among whoever shows up. I have stayed at these cabins before and they are the most awesome in Texas on the top of a huge cliff! |

We'd love to have you come Eric...it will be fun!
There are two CCC vintage cabins perched on the rim of the canyon. Though rustic, these cabins have been renovated and have modern heating and cooling systems. Each cabin consists of two rooms plus restroom and shower. Lighthouse has a day bed with a pull-out. Goodnight and Sorenson have full size bunk beds. All three cabins have a queen size bed. There are no kitchen facilities, but there is a table and charcoal grill located just outside. Cooking is not permitted inside the cabins. Bed linens and towels are provided. A maximum of 4 persons are permitted per cabin. No pets are allowed in the cabins, nor may they be tied outside, crated or left in a vehicle. A third, slightly larger cabin, the SORENSON, is similar to the Lighthouse and Goodnight cabins. It has a large deck from which a panoramic view of the Canyon can be viewed. FEE: $ 125.00 per night plus tax and entrance fees. We rented the Sorenson Cabin for the women and the other for you men...they say 4 to a cabin, but we might try cheating a little( )..but right now, if you come..that will do the 4 to a cabin thing, and we'll be legal.. |

Hummm might have to get another cabin.....just saying it is possible..

|
|

we can try...it might be needed...there are only 3 on the rim, the others are down in the canyon, and not as nice I understand...no great view, but easier to get.
