Topic: 50 reasons to be ashamed (and not a fan) of Jesus | |
---|---|
I see the original post, but I do not see where it shows a verse of Jesus referring to his disciples as mother. ok Cowboy...now it's time for part 2 in my attempt to teach you how to spoon feed yourself...once you have located the "Original Post" ... now you probably have to do something crazy like reading it...if that is to hard...then you can opt to scan the post and "stop and read" each time you see the word "Mother" Found it, this will explain. ------------------------ 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! -------------------------- Notice his mother was with his brethren. Notice 47, "thy mother and thy brethren", showing that they were there together. So Jesus stretched out his hand and said "behold my mother and my brethren". His questions were rhetorical about who his mother and brothers were. you forget to include the passage or any passage where Jesus called Mary "Mother" ...if you can't...this only further points out why you have to hate your Mother to be his disciple Jesus never referred to her as "mother" because he didn't give revelance to the flesh. He only spoke of spiritual things. If Marry had other children, Jesus didn't consider them "brothers and sisters" just because they were related by blood. This flesh and blood is only temporary, it is not eternal. This is why some "denominations" consider Jesus to be a "brother". Luke 8:19-21 19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. 20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. 21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. So with that being said, Marry had absolutely nothing to do with the forming of Jesus Christ. God the father formed him inside her womb. She didn't have sex or any interaction with the forming of Jesus. So therefore she really wasn't his "mother" specifically. She was just the best woman in God's eyes that would be suitable to carry his son and ensure his safety until he was grown. |

Jesus never referred to her as "mother" because he didn't give revelance to the flesh. He only spoke of spiritual things. nope won't work...the disciples were not spiritual things but yet he refer to them as Mother instead of Mary Jesus simply did not respect his Mother...and expect the same of you |

What are you talking about? Where did Jesus refer to his disciples as "mother"? I already showed this wasn't the case using the verse(s) this thread mentioned. So if you know of any verses that we do not know of where Jesus spoke to his disciples calling them mother, please enlighten us. |

So with that being said, Marry had absolutely nothing to do with the forming of Jesus Christ. God the father formed him inside her womb. Cowboy...remember... you claimed that everyone was formed in the womb by God... which means that according to you.. Mothers had absolutely nothing to do with the forming of their children...that it's all done by God I've told you to think before you post that stuff |

What are you talking about? 2 Corinthians 5:17 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. When we are first born into this world, we are born of the flesh. When one is "born again", they are born of the spirit. So, yes we may still be in this flesh temporary, but it is merely our housing for now. |

Nooooooooooooooo. so far you have posted to people and then demand that they not use your name even when it's your posts to them that they are responding to...which is rather bizarre..... you have made threats atleast twice that you might post something in retaliation that will get you kicked off this site,...think about it.. what have anyone posted that you never read before that has the potential to make you lose control over yourself... you yourself have posted things like "it's all about you"...and when no one responded to that post you then uploaded a craze looking Glenn Close picture with the caption "I don't want to be ignored .... all I'm saying is perhaps you should think twice before complaining about someone posting gibberish I'm all about having fun in posting too...so what do you say.....lets get back on the topic |

And before you go off twisting words, I wish to point out something. Jesus said "are these which hear the word and do it." Jesus is speaking to a specific person(s) shown by the word "these". If it was on a note for general pople, it would say "those" eg/. those which hear the word of God, and do it. |

Cowboy...these passage you are posting is not Jesus referring to Mary as "Mother" you would have no problem finding a passage when Jesus called God "Father"....now all you have to do is find a passage where he called Mary "Mother" if you can not accomplish this....then it's time to sign the surrender papers ....and admit that nowhere in the many different versions of the bible that you jump back and forth between did Jesus ever call Mary Mother it's one of the truths about Jesus that it's time for you to accept..that Jesus was showing hatred towards his Mother and expect the same from his disciples |

If my memory serves me well- when actually addressing her, Jesus refers to her as "Woman"

If my memory serves me well- when actually addressing her, Jesus refers to her as "Woman" Yes a time or two he did, but then it was followed with saying he was her son. He may not have directly called her "mother" to often. But he did refer to himself as her son. So with him referring to himself as her son, what would that make her? His mother. |

Well, my ex-wife always hated it when I called her "woman", but it was better than what I wanted to call her LOL

Well, my ex-wife always hated it when I called her "woman", but it was better than what I wanted to call her LOL Yeah I can understand that lol, in the culture we live in now when a man calls a woman "woman" like a name, it's kind of rude. But you also have to keep in mind, the time this was said and the culture. Cause was this wasn't just said so many years ago, but also was not in the western culture. |
