I threw in my 2cents worth much earlier in this thread, so haven't read through all of 'em since. Being from down under, can't say it enough, how bloody envious I feel, especially towards the Americans and British, who had so much of the action when it came to access to 'live' entertainment and those amazing mouth watering acts, seemingly on tap to you guys!
However,I can't recall anybody referencing the late and great Jimi Hendrix.? Even if you were at one of his pub gigs, what was it like? |

I can't remember if my first concert was Neil Young or Jethro Tull. The same year, about 1981? I knew I'd like Neil. Jethro Tull was a good surprise.

Steve Miller - Blossom Music Center.. we were 15-16yrs old at the time (mid 90’s) and i’ll never forget my friend’s mother who took us was pointing out all the women who were flashing that night.. so funny, good times..
..seen a band called Phish the next year at same venue and have gone on to see them close to 40 times since. ‘04 up in northern Vermont we walked the last 12 miles after ditching the car on side of interstate along with prob 100K other people to see prob. the worst 2 nights of music ever played (sad), as they were hanging it up for what turned out to be only 5 yrs.. still something i’ll never forget. Felt like my generation’s version of woodstock, unbelievable experience.. Music is subjective but in my opinion they are the greatest band to ever walk on stage, and Im a fan of lots of different genres and have seen many of the greats. There’s such a “stigma” around certain bands like this that keeps people away.. thing is these people just don’t know what they’re missing |
