Topic: Dark Magick | |

There is no black or white magick, in reality there is just the will of the magician What about magicians who summon spirits or demons in order to make them do their will? (I don't call this black magick, I just call it insane, but that's just me) Hmmm...I guess it just depends on the tradition....in western occultism it is just what you do...I think for some, being able to summon a demon and control it is a test of their power...but yeah i studied all of this stuff back in the day, when I was 13-14. When I was 16 I found a modern book that had full instructions on how to summon and I read it cover to cover several times. I considered trying it but never actually did...because by the time I was 15 I had started practicing Qi Gong which is Taoist alchemy under one master then met another master that instructed me in a Japanese form and gave Taoist lectures and then I was lucky enough to find a Vo Binh Dinh (Fighting Art of BinhDinh province Vietnam) master that gave me the Vietnamese form of it and the keys to understanding it. Taoist alchemy as opposed to western alchemy is much much less bulky. No need for spells, rituals, incantations, everything you need or need to do you already have and are doing. I tend to prefer this form of magick and have found it highly effective and extremely useful for everyday real world situations. |

In the time of Kings......the king's socerer was free to work his trade in the open. or....out in the light.... Others who practiced also.....were shunned and forced to practice in the shadows, out of sight....or.....in the dark. Thus dark or....black magic. That's a new one to me! Sounded good....didn't it???? It was called..."The Dark ages" nice :-) |

seems to me that your killing something (besides a plant)to use in magic, then that would make it dark. elemental magic would be the best, but most people call that science now....

That's interesting. For me, personally, I would have to agree. The sacrifice of a living thing (besides a plant) for ritual or spell would make it "dark magic" to me. I would have to add a disclaimer. I don't consider animal sacrifice in Voodoo to be morally wrong because the animal is used for food after the ritual. And, the animal is not tortured or killed inhumanely. And, Voodoo has a long history of this. Anyone who simply practices magic does not need to use animal sacrifice. |

So, dark or black magic generally seems to mean to people:
1. Magic meant to harm another person 2. Magic using a living sacrifice 3. Magic summoning demons Anything else? |

I am working on an article on Black vs. White Magic. What do you think of when you hear these terms? What do you think these spells would consist of and do you believe there are consequences to either type of magic? Sorta like Spy vs Spy? I try not to be racist when it comes to my magic....... |

I would also add that some people consider just asking for what you want as dark magic also...

I would also add that some people consider just asking for what you want as dark magic also... I always ask for what I want. You ask for it by thinking about it, and intending to have it. Ask and it is given. No, it is not "dark magic." |

I don't really believe in life karma or karma from past lives etc. |

For me, Karma is just the law of cause and effect. I don't really believe in life karma or karma from past lives etc. I've always understood Karma to be the fact that if you do something good it will come back to you as something good that happens to you. If you do something bad it will come back to you as something bad happening to you. And, I just don't see life working like that. Bad things happen to good people and bad people get away with all kinds of crap. |

Bad things happen to good people and bad people get away with all kinds of crap. I think that is the common misunderstanding about Karma. Or maybe that is what some people believe about it. (I don't) I probably incorrectly use the term "Karma" to mean the workings of the law of attraction or the Hermetic law of vibration. Some religions or cults believe that there are beings they call "The Lords of Karma" who dispense karmic justice. I don't believe that at all. |
