I always found this subject difficult: right in between entertaining and worring.
On one hand it keeps your mind busy and it can give you some compensation in terms of personal satisfaction and some money reward. On the other it will show the whole world you are an absolute "L" that doesn't have anything better to do than working on private time.
And then again I wonder: where is all of this people that has fantastic things to do off working hours? Is it me or this is again a myth?

Why would I bring it home? It is work enough at work!

I used to bring work home and work long hours above and beyond the call of duty. Within a few years it made me VP of a consulting firm and increased my pay dramatically. It later gave me all the tools to start my own consulting firm and make more money than I ever expected. I now have the funds and ability to do pretty much anything I want.

Goals are different for each of us and the road to success depends upon your definition of success.

Working overtime depends on a lot of things as well. Some people are not allowed to work overtime. Others can work as much as they want.

Not in physical way but have in a mental way. Since that last divorce I really don't really like unresolved anything. Nipping something in the bud even if you have to get into an argument sometimes can be a good thing. I would rather bury the hatchet between myself and another mentally instead of in their head realistically. I know it is one of those anger management things. But sometimes the drama comes home with me. I guess it can be looked at from the difference of working with parts and working with people. I have been drama free for a while though which is good.

You betcha I took it home.
I climbed the corporate ladder at the
largest corporation in the entire world.

I never thought it extraordinary, I thought
of it as getting/staying ahead.

I wrote the first Affirmative Action
Program for the NAB (National Alliance
of Businessmen) which dealt with fairness
and opportunity.

There was never a time when women did
not have to be better at what they did.
A few extra hours a day insured that.

What if you work at home and at work? Does that mean you work too much?

I have, but rarely because I would get in trouble if my boss found out. I do, however, worry about work at home.

I am trying to learn to stop worrying about or even thinking about work once the work day is done. Once I can do that, it will be much better.

This is so true. And, I try to remember that worrying about it at home won't help anything at the office. And then I remind myself that I'm not getting paid to worry at home.

I don't really understand what you're saying, but from what I gather, I'm guessing it would depend on the career you have chosen and what kind of person you are.

A stock clerk and store owner are going to care differently about the shop, thus each will have a different working style and hours. The owner more likely would be a workaholic and carry their work home, as the stock clerk is more likely to just be there for a check.

It will also depend on whether someone is hourly or on salary. And whether someone is allowed to work overtime or not. If you're hourly and not permitted to work overtime, you're not going to bring home work.
