If a person is genuine, compassionate, caring, fun, honest, values you as a person.

First things first....
MOST of the people b!tching about "fakes" have already given up on the internet dating thing. Everyone of us knows that there will always be the random person who ain't what they say....same is true in actual real life. What makes a "real" person? Someone who don't play it up like they are perfect....(try finding one of those in the Politics forum) What really screws up people is thier concepts of perfect. "Must be this tall", "Must do this", " Must not do that"...it's crap. "Real" people make mistakes, say the wrong things, do stupid schitt. The trick is looking at thier imperfections alongside of the things they do well and see if it is in balance. If so...give em some love. |

I agree Krupalope...
No one is perfect. But it takes a big person to admit it....which isn't easy to do all the time. |

Being genuine and marked with flaws, but honest.
Hmm, flesh and bones. What a real person is and what people desire are often pretty far apart anyhow. |

What qualities do you NOT like? Humm I respect those that can be themselves and you can joke with them without them getting all butt hurt.... What I don't like is one that acts as if they are above you and talk down to you..... |

Well you need to start off with some flesh and some bones, add a bit of fat (curves for girls) and some muscle (a little more muscle for guys), gotta have some hair (moustaches are nice, but not on girls),more than a dash or two of common sense, a whole lot of personality and slap on a SMILE and you are off to a great start~

Just my preferences, to be fair:
Like: Respect for others. Self-Respect. Considerate. Charisma. Classy traits. Sophistication. Humor. Hate: Bad manners. Men who swear all the time. Men who spit on the floor :/ (Groce!). Men who lie. Chat-Up lines. Men with ASBO's. Anti-social behaviour. Maybe i should move to Oxfordshire in London. |

a woman = an adult female
a man = an adult male a REAL adult is summed up in the poem 'If' by Rudyard Kipling but in a nutshell, its a responsible, self accountable, respectable and respectful person (in my opinion) |

That was meant for a different thread. Sorry.

I had to memorize that poem in the 7th grade and have always loved it For those that don't know the poem: IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch, if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son! Rudyard Kipling |
