Whether you believe in him or not; should take no precedence.

It is the words.
It is the ideas.

Who cares if you believe or fail to believe.

Bare with me for a moment, as we consider 'God' to be
Nothing but a word.

But let's look beyond that.
Let's read the 'Bible' as just a book.
With one of the world's most powerful messages.
So powerful, in fact.
It has forged and founded the very principle.
It which nations were built.
And a way of life has thrived.

Life. Love. Respect. Honor. Loyalty. Equality. Sacrifice.

So let us start with both John and the Romans.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world,that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

Romans 5:8 "..but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Whether you believe God to be real, or not.

This act shows a level of devotion that I could never conceive any mortal man do. Sacrificing your own and only child for the betterment of a society that has mixed emotions of despising and loving you.

The ultimate 'sacrifice' in the name of 'love'.

Is this not something we, as men, women, mothers, sisters, brothers, fathers, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews; not practice?

Love. It has been the source of some of the greatest stories ever written. Yes, it can lead to tragedy; so can a variety of other things but..

Romans 8:37-39 "Know, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love.."

For the sake of non-believers, I did remove the end of this quote.

It is the message I am out to promote, not the religion.

Whether God given or man made; Love is one of our greatest inventions, tools, and emotions.

Presently, we live in a world almost completely devoid of this concept. Hate, greed, and power- these have taken the crown and I, a simple nobody, in a town that barely knows my name let alone that I exist outside of a four-digit address; am only to promote a message.

Why?

Because it is an 'idea' that divides us. It has divided. It has created the visage of a wall that has no windows.

So I hope, whether you take heed or not, you will see that with but a pen.. I am drawing a door upon this wall. It is free. It does not demand charity, prayer, nor sacrifice outside of change. Open it, embrace it.

As I stated in another thread..

Find the rainbow in the storm..
Find the beauty in the darkness..

More insight, a deeper message..
Love each other.
Respect each other.
Listen to their values, beliefs, joys and fears.
For you have your own.
Neither is right.
Neither is wrong.
Nothing is absolute except the end.

While your path may be crooked.
Hers may be straight.
His may be a dead end.
All paths lead to one, defined reality.
An ending.

Romans 13:8 "Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law."

Galatians 5:13 "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."

Ephesians 4:2 "with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,"

1 Peter 1:22 "Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,"

Wealth. Fame. Popularity. Fashion. Trends. Politics.

All but smoke and mirrors.
When the end finds you..
..none of these have meaning.

The Pope, the President, the Pop Star, the Rock Mogul.
Their fame and popularity shall not follow them.
You cannot buy nor bribe your way out of it.
You can negotiate with it.

When the end finds you..
..what takes place next..

That is between you and whatever awaits you there.
But your possessions, they stay here with us.
Become divided, spent, and sold or lost to another unavoidable truth.
Time.

So, why does all this greed, fighting, and petty BS..
..have such a strong grip on all of us..
..that we cannot see.

It doesn't matter.

A house can be rebuilt.
A nation can be re-founded.
A car can be fixed or replaced.
..but another's life cannot.

It's all perception.
It's all in your head.
If you only see with your eyes..
..feel with your hands..
The mind is obsolete.
..and even on the brightest of day..

You will find only darkness.

This path, it is destined for failure.
As individuals.
As groups.
Religious and atheist.

We have all separated ourselves.
By one thing or another.
..but you are no less..
..nor are you any more..
Then I am.

In the words of Jesus himself:

(Taken from Matthew 6:25)
"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?"

My point is..

It should not matter if you believe or choose not to believe..

The Bible itself.

Is filled with beauty.
Of course it has carnage, war, and genocide..
..but what is different from humans?
What makes it that when He does it; it is 'despicable'..
..but we do it each and every single day of our lives..
..and such is acceptable?

Do you not see the blatant arrogance and ignorance in this frame of mind?

I will not preach that 'God is this or God is that'.
I will not try to convince ANYONE that validity of the Bible.

So, if you are an atheist.
God made mistakes.
Who effing cares. Are you perfect?
Do you not root for one sport team over the other..
..and curse the one who beats yours?

So, I ask you.
As your fellow men shed blood everywhere.
And we do next to nothing outside of complain, whine, or say such
things as..

"Wow that's messed up."
"I can't believe that crap."
"F***** Obama."
..yet we move not to show we truly desire change.
Outside of petty quarrels, and pointless arguments.

..but I will state openly.

I love what lies in the Bible.

I love the MESSAGE OF GOD.

..whether he exists of not..

we can't help but be Drawn

to the Messenger....

And, this is why I continue to go to Mass in spite of my disbelief in many of the Church's teachings.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass IS the unbloody recreation of the greatest act of sacrifice and love ever known. We can never be reminded of this enough.

And I for one do not oppose that, Ruth .

If but one other person read it.

and is uplifted.

It has been an undertaking.
