Bartering...is it a lost art?

Is there anything that you trade that does not involve money?

I make Miniture Houses and trade with my Taxman who has a train station going all the way around his office. Here is this years
Barter.

I barter my roast chickens for male friends fixing stuff. I will make you one hell of a dinner with all the fixings if you fix something for me that would cost a lot of money and you know how to do easily with $20 in parts. I will make you a damn thanksgiving dinner in august if you fix my car or something.

Cool Village! I bet that keeps your mind sharp!

When the guys at work need something...I require that they Man Dance for whatever it is that they need. They always resist at first, but sooner or later, they all Man Dance.

Just beautiful winterblue :-)
I used to build minature houses.
Then donate them to the Women's Shelter.
They would then raffle them off.
So much fun to work on, I loved doing
the cedar shakes, made to size.

Not sure I have ever bartered anything.

Lol Terry. No lost parts but I did forget to put a glass window on the inside of one of the windows. It's relaxing to me; but I do have a hard time sometimes holding the micro stuff. These took me about 24 working hours. The nicest part about it is that my taxes last year and this year are paid for! thanks you

I would do small ones, for the little girls at
the shelter at Christmas time.
Then the mall gave me a big picture window to
display the big Doll House to be raffled off.

Guess what happened 3 years in a row?
The winner of the raffle turned around and
re-donated the DollHouse to the Shelter.
It was amazing to see. They made tens of
thousands of $$ for them. Much fun for me :-)

Almost all my tarot card readings for people are bartered. I used to do them for free, but one day I realized that those who gave something for the information seemed to appreciate it more and actually participate in the reading.

You guys have some creative ideas:) I have been known to barter piano & vocal lessons (since that is my profession) in exchange for tutoring for children, handyman work, yardwork-when I couldnt get to it- even dentistry wk for the kids when they were younger_one yr I taught 25 students & not once in 10 mths exchanged $$$$ for any of them. could never afford cleaning help but boy! that yr had plenty of it:):)
