I feel sorry for the male mind sometimes. What it must be like to live in such a vapid waste space. Its laughable what's considered beautiful these days.

Yeah funny how their minds work sometimes. The guys themselves are overweight yet have the nerve to make fun of an overweight woman. mad

That's cause men like themselves the way they are. Most anyway. Seriously, ladies should NOT feel so threatened. It keeps you from living and some good opportunities out there.

I don't think its being threatened; we just don't like being insulted because of our weight.

I know I don't. Sheet, that's never good to the currently building self-esteem. Kicking someone when they be down, albeit going through something maybe. Whatever the real reason may be. Clearly those who jeer @ others for petty reasons aren't worth giving any thought to. Those people can go to hell in a hand basket, along with Pat Buchanan and Nancy Pelosi.

I do love how men these days consider someone as voluptuous and healthy as Marlyn still "fat." Please grow the phuck up. Real women, the AVERAGE woman really don't deserve this treatment.

Of course the weight matters. Are you happy being fat? If you are great. There are men who like their women big or volumptious or whatever the latest buzz word is for being fat. But most guys want a healthy woman. Not crack whore thin but a healthy weight. You know if you're a healthy weight or if you need to start cutting back on the calorie intake and getting off your fat *** more often. But don't kid yourself. Fat is ugly and unhealthy. And most people will have a hard time getting past your looks and will never get to know the person behind the fat.

So assuming you like yourself the way you are, resign yourself to being overweight and find someone who likes you that way. And don't worry about the people who don't find a big woman attractive. Can't blame people for what they find attractive or what they don't.

It's all about preference. I'm sure you're speaking for yourself, rather than other men, though, so that's cool.

yes but the derogatory comments he makes are NOT cool -

it's possible to say that weight and body type is a preference without criticizing others

people who are overly obsessed with weight (like this guy sounds he is) are just as unhealthy - if not more so - than folks who are a few pounds over their weight

Oh, I agree that it is definitely possible to state preferences without being rude. Unfortunately, many people aren't like that. Just remember though, weight can be lost. The kind of attitude those people have tends not to go away easily.
Weight is only going to go away if they try. Richard Simmons didn't just sit there eating chips.

Obviously effort has to be put into it. That's still no cause for someone being rude about another person's weight.

Here's a plus sized model. Some men would say she's too fat. I think she's gorgeous.

Be tactful, there is no need to be hurtful.
Now...(hug) run along and play nice.

Plus size models have MUCH prettier faces IMO. And they have better personalities. Imagine trying to hold a conversation with Giselle? "Huh? What? Oh, that FUNny." grumble

I played college athletics and many of my team mates were bigger girls but not one ounce of fat - they were all in excellent physical condition as we trained like rock stars

I have never been attracted to "heavy" women, but that doesn't mean I only find models and pixies attractive.

My basic rule of thumb is this:

I like a women with a body type like mine or slimmer.

That's not as bad as it sounds because I've hit on women who had more than just a "few" extra pounds. If I had to put a number to it, I would guess that it works out to no more than 30 lbs overweight for most women.

That said, there has been one women I would have made an exception for.

On the other hand, I like tall women just as much as I like small women. A 6' 2" woman doesn't phase me if I think she's attractive, and I am roughly 5' 7". I've even seen midgets - or little people, as they prefer to be called - that I would have been willing to date. So my personal standards aren't necessarily the norm.

By contrast, my best friend, Paul, has always liked heavy women. In fact, he was the last person to take notice of this, oddly enough. Now he's married to a 5' 11" 260 lb. woman.

My uncle is another who has always like heavy women. He's always been thin, but my aunt has always weighed close to 300 lbs.

So, there are men out there who like heavy women. Some will date heavy women only. But they aren't normally the types you'll meet in a bar or a dance club or any of the usual "pick up" spots. You're more likely to run into them at the laundromat, the library, church, or the "proverbial" supermarket. At least, that's been my observation.

I agree with what you say; but these men will never grow up and will never accept even an average woman; they want the twiggy women and we can't compete with that. I gave up trying to impress men years ago; they simply aren't worth the effort.

No, only the attitude. And no offense, but I find women with more weight, they seem to not really be very happy, which makes me back off them a bit...
