I had gotten really depressed. I broke up with my last amazing boyfriend the day before Thanksgiving. He is a musician/politician/civil engineer. My friends had been encouraging me to date. So I had. I had been very unhappy with these guys. My friends keep telling me that a guy's education, jobs, social status and accomplishments did not matter. But I found that the guys that did not have these things were not my type. So I talked to my ex husband and the above mentioned ex this morning. They both said the same thing. DO NOT LOWER YOUR STANDARDS IN LIFE YOU DESERVE MEN WHO ARE ACCOMPLISHED BECAUSE YOU ARE ACCOMPLISHED. They meant it too. I have my education. I have my own home. I have do a lot of impressive things. And they felt I deserve the same in a man. So at the risk of being blasted as a complete biotch, what do you think? When you lower your standards how happy are you? What are your standards?

Hummm in life you will come across those that are book smart or common sense smart. Some will have both or one or the other...
I have seen those that are book smart and dumb as a rock when it comes to life. As well as the other way around. But I have never judged one on their education as far as dating them. For sure I do not let my friends rule whom I date or for what reason. When I'm with someone it is due to they are the one that I want to be with at that time.... If he was all those things you say he is seems to me he is pretty accomplished in what he does..... At times some tend to put their standards so high it takes them out of the dating pool.. Honestly I believe the ones that do that do it for deep down they don't want to date. My main standard is Honesty and one that I can trust. One that knows what the word faithful is and abides by it as well. |

Imagine spending your savings for a car with none of the options you wanted on it (basically settling for, right?), and a gas guzzler to boot...only to find out if you would have waited a few days you'd have found exactly what you wanted and for a lot less money no less.
