Voting does make a difference..sometimes. I think they should get rid of the electoral vote my self.

For the record, I detest Obama and for the sake of our country he better not get re-elected!!

Here are some keywords to keep in mind;

Healthcare Reform

Cap & Trade Treaty

Fast & Furious

Gitmo

Libya

Super Congress

Claiming he would pull the troops out instead of the surge of troops into Afganistan.

One of his main points during his campaign: Transparency
He has quietly done a lot of negative work and has NOT been "transparent".

These are just some of the reasons why he should not get elected agin. Many would say it should get impeached.

I am voting for Ron Paul for president in 2012, he is the CHANGE my country, the United States, needs.

By the way, my pet peeve...call it the U.S. or the United States or the USA, do not call it "America" . I am a U.S. citizen, it is much clearer than saying American. Just my opinion.

You left out the mess with letting Iran get a key piece of classified military technology and not even lifting a finger to do anything about it.

Also letting the crimes against humanity continue in Syria and not doing more to hold Iran accountable for the numerous reasons he should.

Are we suppose to be the World's Police? I do not want to be nor does Ron Paul. I'm not happy that Iran got one of our drones. If Obama continues being president we will have drones flying over our heads everywhere in the United States. Ever heard of Big Brother? Maybe you should read George Orwell's 1984 cause we are certainly headed that way!!

Why on Earth would you ever consider voting for Obama again, that is insanity to me!!

Have you read the key issues in the Healthcare Reform Bill? That alone will be a huge downfall to our country. Do you honestly think the budget won't run out on that? Do you realize that you will pay for health services in real time eletronic billing? What happens to those people who can't pay in real time? Do you realize that medical doctors are taking early leave and moving out of the United States to practice in other countries or settling for early retirement? They are NOT bringing their employees with them!! Do you think that procedures that save lives won't be rationed? Learn before you speak and vote please!! I will be a criminal because I don't have medical insurance, I guess with the NDAA bill in effect they can detain me and throw away the key!!!

There are many issues that need to get repealed ASAP when Ron Paul comes into office, IF he comes into office.

I honestly think the budget wont run out on the healthcare reform.

there are many doctors who support and many who dont support the reform, thats life

we are oversaturated with doctors and lawyers in this country, and I imagine plenty of them are already and have already relocated for work

procedures that save lives are already rationed with the private insurance industry,, they have number crunchers who make those decisions about peoples lives DAILY

page 151 of the bill
'‘‘(A) WAIVER OF CRIMINAL PENALTIES.—In the case of
any failure by a taxpayer to timely pay any penalty imposed
by this section, such taxpayer shall not be subject to
any criminal prosecution or penalty with respect to such
failure"

nothing in the bill mandates real time electronic payments,,,,

You seem to love to argue what I type. You have stated your opinion in regards to several points including the doctors. I guess you have not waited months for an appointment when your life or a loved one's life is in danger? I have waited and it will only get worse with this Healthcare.

We are NOT oversaturated with doctors in any way in this country. Specialists can take months for an appt. My friend's sister discovered a lump in August, she just got her first surgery approx 2 weeks ago,mid December, is it cancer and grew to the size of an apple by the time she got operated on. She is WAITING for her second surgery now.

I will not do your homework for you. I had a copy of the bill and yes, it does state real time electronic payments. The people who read this can look it up themselves. I did quickly find the following but it may have moved since the bill has been revised.

Pg 58HC Bill - Govt will have real-time access 2 individs finances & a National ID Healthcard will b issued!
Pg 59 HC Bill lines 21-24 Govt will have direct access 2 ur banks accts 4 elect. funds transfer

If I am not a criminal, it will not matter once the president signs the NDAA bill, I can be held indefinitely anyway with no trial!!

homework is not an issue for me, my grades have always been pretty good because I believe in reading for myself

I dont personally love to debate with anyone in specific, to be honest, but I do feel inclined to balance the misinformation people post and repost with what is actually researchable

I keep a copy of the bill in my favorites so that I can review it and I have a neat function on my computer called a control+ f feature which FINDS whatever word I want in the document

I find NOTHING in the bill about mandatory electronic billing
perhaps you can point me towards the page

the references given above are someones paraphrase of a full page of in formation in the bill, and not actual quotes from the bill,,,

The President has many powers, great and small.

The gov't is supposed to be a ruling body, but acting on the peoples interests, NOT WALL STREET!

Therein lays the problem. Power corrupts completely! The bankers (FED) has the power!

Throughout our early history our forefathers fought the central bank...and those who did, died, or assassinations were attempted... some think that is coincidental.... but it is FACT!

Today it is a passing statement or a conspiracy theory we tell, or light conversation as the memory (and our great history) fades. JFK fought the bank with his Executive Order 11110, months later....we know the story.

The President CAN make changes without congressional approval (the NDAA, Patriot Act and many others laws/bills they passed makes it so) and can be turned against them by their own works!

It is only a beginning! We need a President who has the cajones to stand against them and try!

There is an old warhorse who has been doing that for 30 years, now a front runner in this election, and they are scared to death he may succeed! RP has BIG ONES! It's not a fight any of the others will take up, but a war veteran who swore to defend his country against all enemies, both foreign AND domestic... RP HAS MY VOTE! drinker

what? NDAA passed the house and senate

Patriot ACt passed the house and the senate

the congress CAN and does afford the president certain powers pertaining to WAR and TERRORISM, which is not so farfetched as his main exclusive authority has to do with being commander in chief of such forces...

most commonly repeated falsehoods about what is in the healthcare bill

http://www.factcheck.org/2009/08/twenty-six-lies-about-hr-3200/

Claim: Page 58: Every person will be issued a National ID Healthcard.

False. There is no mention of any “National ID Healthcard” anywhere in the bill. Page 58 says that government standards for electronic medical transactions "may include utilization of a machine-readable health plan beneficiary identification card,” to show eligibility for services. Insurance companies typically issue such cards already, but if such a standard were issued the cards would need to be in a standard form readable by computers. The word “may” is used to permit such a standard, but it does not require one.

Claim: Page 59: The federal government will have direct, real-time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer.

False. This section aims to simplify electronic payments for health services, the same sort of electronic payments that already are common for such things as utility bills or mortgage payments. The bill calls for the secretary of Health and Human Services to set standards for electronic administrative transactions that would "enable electronic funds transfers, in order to allow automated reconciliation with the related health care payment and remittance advice." There is no mention of "individual bank accounts" nor of any new government authority over them. Also, the section does not say that electronic payments from consumers is required.

this is actually an appropriations bill for the department of defense, approximately six hundred pages long with at least that many provisions, none of which give any NEW authority to this administration that hasnt existed under the AUMF

Adam Serwer over at MotherJones explains it clearly,

The administration had said that the military detention provisions of an earlier version of the NDAA were “inconsistent with the fundamental American principle that our military does not patrol our streets.”

The revised NDAA is still inconsistent with that fundamental American principle. But the administration has decided that fundamental American principles aren’t actually worth vetoing the bill over.
On one hand the administration claims that it’s opposed to the bill to keep it’s progressive constituency at bay all the while planning to sign it anyway.

It should be noted that the Obama administration’s attacks on the civil liberties of Americans far outweigh those of the Bush administration’s. While George W. Bush only took away your 4th Amendment rights via the USA PATRIOT Act, the Obama administration has extended the USA PATRIOT Act and now repealed your 5th and 6th Amendment rights through the NDAA. You can also say goodbye to The Posse Comitatus Act, which makes it illegal for the military to stroll around the streets of suburbia and arrest people at will.

Civil rights organizations like the ACLU have come to the realization that Obama’s actions are historically some of the most dangerous and tyrannical. Laura W. Murphy of the ACLU’s Washington office, in a press release stated,

If President Obama signs this bill, it will damage both his legacy and American’s reputation for upholding the rule of law. The last time Congress passed indefinite detention legislation was during the McCarthy era and President Truman had the courage to veto that bill. We hope that the president will consider the long view of history before codifying indefinite detention without charge or trial.
*****************

This is taking America in the right direction? Good leadership? Constitutional freedom? Protection?

Sorry....if it looks like tyranny, reads like tyrany, is enforced like tyranny.....IT'S TYRANNY!

I'm just disapointed that he allowed GW's policy to continue. He should be ashamed of himself as a Constitutional expert. And so should Eric Holder.

I'm sure all the conservatives will be on me so fast about this I can almost feel the talk-spit already. Yes I am a moderate Democrat!(I consider myself a Paul Wellstone Dem.) Yes I have a job. Yes I can think for myself. Yes I am white, and Yes I am American born.
I also believe that government is here, and obligated to do those things that we as individual Americans cannot, or will/would not do for ourselves and each other, and no more.

At this time I don't believe there is a GOP candidate out there that is presidential material.

Insults and sarcasm will not change my mind so if you think you have a valid arguement, for or against, go for it!

WHO DO YOU THINK IS BETTER???

There is no viable challenge to Obama

We had better vote him back in or we are looking at the end of our freedoms in this country.

Except if people would have done their homework on this.......the government was able to this before this bill.

There is nothing new in this bill about detention other than naming of a few groups of terrorist specifically. Otherwise the detention capability is the same as it has been since the patriot act was inacted.

People really need to do their homework.

This could be done since Bush.

I ain't gonna argue your point. Cause it's valid simply because; their all idiots; including 'Obama'. The man with the motto of 'Change', pfft.

However this statement..

"I also believe that government is here, and obligated to do those things that we as individual Americans cannot, or will/would not do for ourselves and each other, and no more."

That's total BS.

Cannot do is not the same as are not allowed to do.

I stand firmly with my belief that we do NOT need the government and that, in truth, they NEED us far more. However, reworded slightly, or this sentence out of your idea completely, would have kept me out of this.

You just said...

"Vote for who you believe is the best candidate.."

Then said...

"The smartest and most successful people are voting for him."

Which is it?

Follow the crowd? or Be an individual?

I agree with the first.. but after stating it..
..the second had no place in the same idea.

Also..

Oprah's one of Obama's biggest supporters.

All I truly remember her ever saying in regards to him was.. 'Change'.

That's a policy? One word? Really?

F*** out of here. She wanted him as President because of his race.
As did a lot of others who just wanted a 'black' president.

Mark history, yada yada yada.

Granted, before the racial card is tossed at me; I know a lot of people voted against him for the same exact reason.

Point is: I will NEVER allow ANYONE of power or wealth DICTATE my choice simply because they have money and/or power.

Personally, they can kiss my sexy white a**.

Ok, let me get out of here... Before they catch me.:O

what I actually said is 'some of the smartest people and most successful people are supporting him'

which doesnt mean that EVERY smart person votes for or supports him but means voting for him obviously isnt predicated by someone being an idiot

some very smart people and successful people do consider him the best candidate and anyone else who believes as they do may have similar reasons for thinking so and may be similarly innocent of being an idiot

I think whatever color he would have been Oprah would have voted for him, because the choice was him or NcCain/Palin

plenty of very smart people were (rightfull in my opinion) terrified of the idea that Palin may represent this country if something happened to what APPEARED to be a less than the fittest,,,McCain

and plenty were likely unsettled by how his whole campaign seemed to center mostly around his war years with little mention of any of the other issues we were facing,,,I was

Obama was the best of what we had to chose from, hands down, and would have been regardless of what he appeared to be asthetically
