Humility is the state of being humble. A humble person is generally thought to be unpretentious and modest: someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others

I never tell of the things I have done. I praise God for letting me be there to do them.

funches, I have a feeling that by examining the word 'humility' you have taken its root and extended thought to another word: 'humiliation'. They have the same root, but these words have different meanings.

"kic"...you're right again...humility is a form of self-humilitation ...it's the realization of something negative about oneself...why else would one seek to change their behavior or create lists to follow

humility and humiliation have nothing to do with each other - there are online dictionaries that would help you and could have saved hours on cyber arguing on herelaugh flowerforyou

I stated self-humiliation

Humiliation and self humiliation are related (to each other)...However , neither is related to humility...You are confusing the two....The thread is about humility, not about humiliation of others or self .....If the thread was titled humiliation, much, if not all, you say would be correct....flowerforyou

Leigh...aren't you the one that place up a list of 50 things that you know is impossible for you yourself to follow all of them ....

that list is just a way to beat yourself up

sure seems like self-humiliation ....

5 pages of misunderstandings....
maybe i'm wrong but this is the way i understand it

Humility = The art of stepping back for a moment and accepting that perhaps someone else may be better at it or knows more about it than yourself. Gracefully

Humiliation = The act of reducing, abasement of pride, It can be brought about through bullying, intimidation, physical or mental mistreatment or trickery

Humidity = sweaty nutsack :tongue:

Great list Leigh flowerforyou

Why would anyone write this? I mean, even if Leigh couldn't keep up with one item on that list (which I doubt VERY MUCH) I'd prefer to thank her for taking the time to post it and it certainly helps remind us all of how we should be....

this can be an opportune time for you to show her and us a lil humility yourself?

As a wise man once said...

"Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror.
I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me.
I must be a hell of a man.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble....but, I'm doing the best that I can."

JOHNN111...after you finish sucking up to Leigh simply check the past posts and you will notice that I've already thanked Leigh for the list .....

now let's see if you can do the same that you asked of me...show your humility by humbling yourself to me with an apology

I know it will hurt you to do so...but it will prove my point about humility being self-humiliation and why one has to suffer humility to reach humbleness and enlightenment

wow all for me...thanks Leigh .....

but the list you place is about following a philosophy ....humility is not a philosophy..you are thinking about humbleness....supposedly to reach humbleness or perhaps enlightenment one first have to suffer humility

JOHNN111,...thanking Leigh for the list do not mean that I have to turned into a robot clone and agree with what's on the list.....

but I suppose expecting an apology from you would be the same as expecting Leigh to be able to do everything on that list

What is it on this EVIL list that you do not agree with?

expecting an apology from me = expecting Leigh to do EVERYTHING on list

Try and taper your expectations eh?

Funches, I'm truly sorry.... I'm real sorry you haven't understood anything from my posts or this thread.

We good now?
