Topic: They're Still Not Paying Attention

I just got a nudge from a stranger. This happens a lot. But this time I decided to take a look at her profile. And -- would you believe? -- there's nothing in it. Everything is "No Answer." I don't know if she has kids, if she drinks (realistically, I do know that stuff, but she didn't actually admit it), etc., etc.

So, I thought I should recheck my profile and make sure the disclaimer is still in there. And, voila, it says right there: "I don't reply to nudges from strangers and I don't want to hear from Yahoo scammers."

This seems like a fairly clear concept to me: I don't reply to nudges from strangers >>> If you are a stranger and you nudge me, I will not respond >>> You are therefore wasting your time nudging me. Finis.

And yet, they continue to do so. In droves, which I believe are fancy foreign cars, probably from Sweden.

I suspect she is a scammer, much in the same way I suspect the sun is a huge ball of hydrogen atoms being fused into helium by the enormous internal pressures inside, thereby generating prodigious amounts of light and heat. I can't prove the scammer part yet. But I will....

You attract them like a magnet. Trying to discourage nudges only sends a subconscious command for them to nudge you. I am fighting the urge to go to your profile right now and nudge the hell out of you.

I keep hearing that, but nobody does anything about it....! Lately I think they're just being nice so I'll base a character on them in one of my books....!

Yeah, but at least I know who you are! I'm fine with it if it's someone I know from the forums. It's just these strangers (uaually from California or New York -- most of the time Manhattan -- with the occasional Ghananian [that's probably not the right word] thrown in for continental balance) who keep nudging nudging nudging that bug me....

She probably is. The pic always looks like it was taken from some generic "sexy 22-year-old falling out of her top" album.

Ya, I think he knows theyre not readin it. Its still annoying that it cant be stopped. Like the 'cheaping' noise from a low batteried smoke alarm coming from the vacant adjacent apartment. forever.

It'll stop if you burn down the building. Probably.

Imperfection? Yeah, I get that part.

But I'm not wasting people's time sending them uninformed, unsolicited communications. It's not a huge thing, but it's an unwanted, unnecessary intrusion.

It's different if it's somebody who really has something to say, somebody who isn't trying to peddle their "private pix" through a munged Yahoo addy in the next e-mail.

Call it a pet peeve.

All this over hundreds of nudges. And "all this" really isn't "all that." I just like to have a little fun with it.

Getting angry about it doesn't help, it doesn't change anything and it doesn't make it stop.

I understand peeves... bring a case of Guiness and we'll chat all night. haha.
But peeps not listening... talking about chit as though they're experts but in fact don't have a clue about the topic... unsolicited advice, comments, pffft... it's just retarded sometimes.
I've altered my profile to say that I was 5'1' AND 350lbs... bald and cross-eyed.... then to, all but "Leave me the Frick alone..." still I get emails, haha.

People... I love 'em. They're the scum of the earth... just like me.
