Hi Guys. I'M BACK AGAIN !!! With another question.. Would you please tell me, what is a hacker?? I thought that it means when someone steals your personal stuff. I like to copy pictures, such as funny ones, jokes or animals, that someone has put on facebook or other places. Is this wrong?? Is there a Computer Dictionary that would explain all? I bet you are just shaking your head and said, what a dummy. They tell me,if you don't know, ask someone.

A hacker goes into YOUR computer.
Everything is public, once posted
on the internet.

There are good hackers and bad hackers. A good hacker will help you fix your computer. A bad hacker will break it for you. So if you ever get mad at your computer you can break it or let someone else break it for you. Or you can turn it off and take it in to be fixed. Or you can do like I did and go to school for it. Then you will able to be dangerous unless you keep learning about computers.

Hacking or cracking is the act of finding and exploiting software/hardware in order to gain control over it.

So a Hacker is one who uses exploits.

I work in IT, and often have to uncover a hackers activity on a network. I then work with local IT to block, or repair the holes.

Really gotten bad when you have to hack your own Networks to see whether they are Hackproof!
Trouble,is that all those Tools are freely available on the Internet now!

If its brand new Id get with the retailer, or manufacturer. No new systems should be freezing up.

Are you running any particular applications when the freezing occurs?

Hollywood ****ed up the definition of hacker. For decades the main users of the word hacker used it primarily in a completely different way than most of us hear.

In 70s, 80, and 90s actual hackers used the word hacker in a completely different way than hollywood and mainstream did, and tried their best to educate the general populace on this.

I think it might be time to give up, though. Hollywood won. Fine. A hacker is just someone who breaks into systems. Whatever.
