if a man can't pull his own weight around the house, he will have a tough time keeping a woman interested in sex - there is no bigger turn off than watching some couch potato watch you clean house ....just sayin' Major point there. My ex was a couch potato who thought having a job left him immune to cleaning duties, cooking for himself, or doing anything but playing with his guitar while I worked my butt off doing housekeep for room and board...that HE benefited from. >.<  I just want to make sure I understand this...He supported you and you just had to clean up after him and yourself and you see that as being unfair? No, I worked for room and board for a different couple and my ex moved in with us under the agreement of paying rent for himself. Which he didn't do, which left me pulling double duty scrounging around for any odd jobs possible to make up for what he failed to bring in. |

I'd recommend limiting yourself to a busy 8 hr shift and play guitar with him when he gets home? what would you expect from him if the shoe was on the other foot? Wait. First, when you thought he was paying for her room and board and she was just working for it, you were getting on her case for complaining about him. Now that she's cleared it up and said that he's the one that did nothing, you're going to tell her it takes two to tango? Sounds like she made the right choice and got rid of the lazy guy. Are you one of those guys who wants a woman to keep a clean house for you? He couldn't have used her, if she hadn't allowed herself to be used. Ipso facto: It takes two to tango. I want a woman who pulls her own weight. If she wants to be a stay at home wife, then I will gladly pull down a salary while she keeps the house. If she wants to work, then we can split the house cleaning duties or hire a maid to come around once or twice a week. I don't want to dictate what anyone does with their life, from my neighbors to my wife/girlfriend. But I wouldn't support a woman who refused to keep the house clean (unless she became disabled after we married). Been there, done that. |

So i gave an honest answer of what men really want. Sorry if you can't handle the truth. Now as for what woman want, who the hell knows. I been trying to figure that out for years. Seems to me they want a man to act more like a dog. I just don't get it, woman today are so confusing. I don't know what they want. They say they want one thing and run off with another. They use sex to get men to do what they want, and the first times a man disagrees hes out the door. None of them like to cook anymore, cleaning the house is seen as stepping back in being a slave. And they want to go out running around with their friends, spending money, getting drunk, who knows what else and men aren't supposed to say one word about this. Well personally im tired of being the guy who is sitting home waiting for her to feel ready to come home and see me. Talk about fair, woman just don't give a damn anymore |

I don't know if that was aimed at me, but I wasn't trying to bark at you, I was just agreeing with a particular statement. I appreciate the fact that you were honest in your opinion. @Spider You do have a point, I did let him use me and I was quite aware of it. That was entirely my fault for letting it continue. Still, the point being, that the mentality that started that wasn't attractive at all and is not something I want to experience again even in the short term. I'm sure if you've had that experience yourself you might find that quality extremely unattractive as well.

What do guys want?
To love and be loved...... and everything else will fall in place. A guy who truly loves is a giver....and the woman who is the receiver , now in turn becomes the giver. Simple. But to know how to TRULY love like that ,one has to allow God INto the equasion. First.

You stated "why can't both people share in the house work" I agree, why can't they? But in my experiance woman don't even know where the kitchen is, so how can she share? My last GF could only boil hotdogs. So it was completly left up to me. Also most woman see cleaning the house as taking a step back in time and feel they are above it now. I have no problem cleaning house, but she feels like this how can she share in that? See what i mean? Shareing is shareing, and if its your turn to cook, ordering out doesn't count. and the cloths are not done until they are folded and put away. Washing drying and putting on the coach in a pile doesn't count. You really should come check out my house, you would never believe that a single guy lives here alone. I'll give ya a hint, the toilet sit is always down, there are no cloths on my floor, you can't write you name in the dust, its smells good, and their are no dirty dishes in my sink. I have had many people tell me if they didn't know better they would never think a guy lives here alone. |
