I know!! Spent the afternoon fishing and the only thing accomplished is adding a new pole to the shopping list..haha

After reading this whole post i had to hunt up my light tackle pole. think tomorrow.. I'm going to see if the crappie are still hitting enough for supper... if not bluegill paddies are almost as tasty..

OH!!! I totally forgot about my ultra light pole!!! Crappie and Bluegill are so fun to catch on those!!! Sounds like a fun idea

got to the lake yesterday evening and caught enough crappie for dinner today..good day of bank fishing.

YEA! I did it I went and bought my fishing license for year (last year I bought only a day pass) I plan on fishing this summer lots of great places to fish and some really close by, Detroit Lake, St. Louis Ponds, Walter Wirth Lake, next Ima going to go buy my fishing pole and bait.....was going to go to Detroit Lake with a friend today but I had to work late so nixed that but maybe this coming week, Detroit if not will go somewhere close by...... Good job.. got the license will travel. if worse come to worse I've used a cain pole many times and had a fun day fishing.. Hope you get out many times this yr. just sitting on the bank enjoying the day is worth it. be safe though. ticks are out.. with some good bug spray and shorts.. you can see em.. have fun. Even a bad day of fishing is a good day, today went to Walter Wirth Lake (it's really more of a pond) didn't catch anything but had a lot of fun sitting in the sun, enjoying the nice weather.

Glad to hear people here are going fishing. Caught my limit on trout, and pulled in a nice salmon. Up in the mountains here a lake called Eleven Mile. Fishing off a boat. It was a very beautiful day.

Fishing was excellent this weekend. Four trout. Two Salmon. On light tackle with the wind howling. Then raining. Good times indeed.

Fishing tomorrow. If the weather holds up. The fishing has been very good here in the last few weeks. Salmon has been hitting in the mountain lake. Lake trout is being caught with power bait.

I can see this brings smiles to your face. I remember one time fishing with my dad. He was a grand fisherman. We were on a all day fishing boat. He just dropped his line in the water, the reel started spinning so fast. He dropped his drink, pull back on the pole. He started fighting the fish. Then his line went slack, the look of sadness took over his happiness. So he pulled in his line on the reel, just as he was getting to the leader the line pulled hard. My dad went over, as the fish jumped right into the boat. It was a big yellow fin, my mom looked over at the fish. She said that was a good trade. We could not stop laughing all day. to bad you dont have a pic of that, and speaking of shark meat I hear its tough is this true? Im going to have to try it.I miss family fishing trips really want to go this summer, but would like to deep sea fish some time.

I live near Tampa Florida. Love going offshore fishing in the gulf of Mexico. Fishing is amazing. Lots of grouper and red snapper.

Like eating halibut, but with a deeper taste. I have had Black grouper before but found it to be oily in taste.
