This is one of many crappie I caught in 2010 when doing a fishing challenge with my brother. This was a sunfish taken at the same time for the same reason..lol (I won that year and he won the following year) That there is a meal.

I couldn't believe how big they were that year. Almost every one I caught was the size of those two. I did keep several of both for dinner that night.

They get a good size here to. They go for the grasshoppers for bait here. Grubs are fish getters. They jump for the grubs. We have some slow streams here that are deep. Around the fallen trees I can catch a good meal.

That first picture shows the bait I was using that day. I was in the boat in the middle of the lake. I swear, every cast brought one in the boat.

The high mountain cold lakes, the fish hit fast and hard. People have lost their fishing equipment because they left their rods unattended. The salmon hit hard, they will pull allot of line off. I feel a little worn out for being outside in the weather. Need to lay down for the night. God bless, I enjoyed this very much.

Using a fish line, my friend gave me. I really like it for its sensitive, I can feel when I am getting a bite. The line is real thin and easy to knot, and holds the knot. Spiderwire Ultracast Ultimate Mono Clear. I have notice it kind of disappears in the water. Use it for the first time yesterday. Going back out on Wednesday.

These two baits seem to work really well on the trout here.

YEA! I did it I went and bought my fishing license for year (last year I bought only a day pass) I plan on fishing this summer lots of great places to fish and some really close by, Detroit Lake, St. Louis Ponds, Walter Wirth Lake, next Ima going to go buy my fishing pole and bait.....was going to go to Detroit Lake with a friend today but I had to work late so nixed that but maybe this coming week, Detroit if not will go somewhere close by......

Good job.. got the license will travel. if worse come to worse I've used a cain pole many times and had a fun day fishing.. Hope you get out many times this yr. just sitting on the bank enjoying the day is worth it. be safe though. ticks are out.. with some good bug spray and shorts.. you can see em.. have fun.

I broke my favorite fishing pole a little bit ago sonof a gun..I hate that.. couple yrs ago i got dumb and liffted my ugly stick up by the top eye.snap like a twig.. prayers sent.. thats a tough one

I was putting it back together and didn't notice the hook had snagged and it snapped before I realized it. Bright side of it! New fishing pole for me in the future!
