Simon’s Birthday

A birthday wish for you,
someone I care about so much.
An ordinary wish just won’t do,
I must add my own special touch.

I would give to you, beams from the sun,
and the breeze from the air.
To give to you a day of fine sailing fun,
the feel of warmth and wind caressing your hair.

Pure and sweet notes, yet full of spirit,
and though it may not be a symphony,
will touch your heart when you hear it.

I would write for you, a song,
to extol how wonderful you are.
Feeling happy because it won’t be long,
before you are the Birthday Star.
