Dear Luvs, Im am facing a very serious battle which I know U have been through, any advice as to how U keep your sprits up with the treatments to get healthy again? One word, God. He will give you strength, when you feel helpless. He will give you energy, when you feel weak, he will give you love when all you feel is sadness, and most of all, if you trust your life in the hands of the Lord, he will bring you healing. I would not be alive today, if not for God. I honestly, truely believe that. And remember this. Let me be a shining beacon, that no matter what they say, you can beat this. I was never suppose to survive. My cancer was at stage 3 out of 4 when it was finally found, and had spread through my entire lymphoitc system. They gave me a 50/50 chance to live, a coin flip, but I did, because like I told them, "Ill die when im damn good and ready to die, and im not ready, ive only just begun my clean, new, and heavenly life". They told me, by that statement alone...I would probably beat the odds and live, and I did. Stay focused on healing, take an active part in your treatment, and never be afraid to ask questions about everything that is being done to you, and if you dont feel good about a treatment, you DONT HAVE to do it. Its YOUR life, its your BODY, its YOUR treatment, and its YOUR life. Never lose grasp of that, ever. And if all else fails, find ways to laugh at it. Like I did after my mastectomy, and I told the doctors the security in the hospital sucked, because while I was sleeping someone stole my right breast, and got away with it. I also drew happy faces on the back of my bald head, and got into crazy fashions and blue wigs, to try to make it more fun. It different for everyone Mikey. You may not even get sick, but you will be tired, so learn to rest your body, and reserve your strength, while at the same time, continuing to live your life. Doing the things you love to do, and eating healthy and exercise is very important. And my final word of advice is....NEVER SAY NEVER! I IDONT CARE WHAT THEY TELL YOU, MIRACLES HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. Im actually going to try to give you a SERIOUS answer to this question....because I see you are in need of a serious answer. Well lets see, if shes a teenager, shes too old for "Hello Kitty", although I still buy "Hello Kitty" stuff, but I am very immature, for my age. I like the "hoodie" idea, but you have to make sure, you get one, that represents what shes into. Example: If she likes skulls, get one with skulls on it,(I have one with skulls, very cool). Does she like Justin Beiber, or Hanna Montana? At Walmart, I have seen both of them on hoodies. WHAT SHE WOULD REALLY CHERISH, would be a piece of jewelry. You can go to Walmart, or Kmart, and buy real gold or silver jewelry, for a low price. Save the receipt, in case she doesnt care for it, so that she can return it, for something she does like. What jewelry, you say??? A charm bracelet, would be awesome, if she has pierced ears, some pretty earrings,(HER STYLE, you should kinda know what she usually wears). A pretty necklace, or even a ring(although you would need to know her size for a ring, but she could always return it for a different size). Im still in my teens mentally, and nothing says "bomb-diggity-bomb-bomb" to me, like jewelry. You can keep it forever, and always be reminded of the person who bought it for you, whenever you look at it. Just whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FAKE JEWELRY.
